Individual will be part of extended (CBS Analytics Mumbai) Division team to support on the Marketing Mix Models via analytically based recommendations that are translated into business results

This is an individual contributor role where a person will work directly with the Insights & Analytics Marketing, Sales and Finance team and with the senior management in the Division and Hubs/Subs under minimal guidance. Person will run the project from scoping to the simulation workshop and implementation on the ground. Person will be working with Nielsen, third party analytics companies and media agencies as well.


Must Have


  • Min 5+ years of experience in the advanced analytics space and provide guidance to the business teams
  • Analyze syndicated and non-syndicated data to build Marketing Mix Model and provide insights to support the Marketing Investment 
  • Leverage learnings from these analyses to create strategic recommendations for Media and Trade in line with the Brand’s objective 
  • Articulate complex Marketing Mix, promo, Price  relationships and data in a visually clear, concise manner that is easy to understand for business
  • Analysis of Trade Promo, SPIs,  EDLP, Media (offline, online), Digital  by different channel and geography to generate insights as how it will affect consumers and customers and overall ACPL Model
  • Ability to synthesize analytical results with internal data to create scenarios to support P&L
  • Experience of Offtake, POS and Media data and Knowledge of Marketing Mix Analysis
  • Excellent Problem Solving & Quantitative skills, Hands on experience on R, Python
  • Mine data through various technologies like BigQuery and SQL
  • Understanding of hierarchy linear model, multiple linear regression and media optimization
  • Ability to create a model & simulation tool from scratch


Good to Have


  • Experience with third-party data i.e., syndicated market data, Point of Sales, etc.
  • Working knowledge of consumer packaged goods industry
  • Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (Monte Carlo Markov Chain, decision tree learning,  hierarchical model etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
  • Understanding of Colgate’s processes, and tools supporting analytics (for internal candidates)
  • Willingness and ability to experiment with new tools and techniques 
  • Good facilitation and project management skills
  • Understanding of Monte Carlo simulation techniques and dynamic linear regression models
  • Ability to maintain personal composure and tactfully handle difficult situations.
  • Bachelors in Economics/Maths/Stats  and/or Masters in Statistics, Marketing, Finance
  • Strong conceptual & working knowledge of Statistical models
