The Customer Development Team, Finance Manager – Target is responsible for providing financial direction and leadership to the Target Customer Development Team (CDT) by leveraging financial analytics, championing Revenue Growth Management mindset, and cross functional collaboration to drive sustainable profitable growth.  This is accomplished by owning and actively reviewing the P&L and GTN of the customer, review all available external data (Nielsen, POS, public domain), managing the profitability of the account, and by providing financial analysis and recommendations in order to meet our objectives.  The Financial Manager is responsible for understanding the customer’s financial drivers to the business (calculation of cost of goods, margin, store invoicing, their key financial KPI's, etc.), and communicating the learning to the Customer Development Team so that the team can develop more effective plans and investment choices that are aligned with the customers' strategies and C-P's.  In addition, the Manager is responsible for ensuring the integrity and documentation of financial reporting related to the team's activity, its alignment with corporate policies and strategies, and that all accounting principles are properly followed.

 

 This includes but is not limited the following:
 
●    Actively participating in account planning and business reviews; 
●    Providing and recommending changes to the account business plans based on utilization of ROI analysis; 
●    Staying current and aware of all competitive merchandising strategies, pricing, promotions, and spending levels; 
●    Ensuring that changes to the account plans support the achievement of brand strategies and corporate goals; 
●    Analyzing the impact of Corporate Events at the customer level and make recommendations that will enhance effectiveness; 
●    Developing, communicating, and monitoring financial KPI's to ensure projected ASP and Net Margin targets by brand and customer are achieved; 
●    Monitoring the promotional and pricing activity at retail to ensure that investments are being implemented with pre and post ROI; 
●    Managing the development, integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of the budget, LE, and P&L; 
●    Monitor trade investment clearing process, ensuring timely resolution of all Customer deductions;
●    Position will be based in Minneapolis, MN.
●    Strong preference will be given to candidates willing to relocate to another Colgate location in approximately 2-3 year time period

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 8 years relevant Accounting/Financial experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required
  • Commercial Finance experience preferred
  • CPA/MBA preferred
  • Relevant systems knowledge preferred -- MS Excel, Google Suite, SAP and BW
