Job Summary: The Demand Planning Manager is responsible for:-

  • Managing and supporting the Demand Planning process and ensuring that it meets the business objectives
  • Identifying and implementing Business process improvements in Demand planning
  • Enhancing & Upskilling Demand planning function through training
  • Ensuring all Demand planners and Demand analysts are following the correct Business procedures
  • Ensuring alignment with Customer Development/ Sales with quick actions
  • Maintaining, analysing and ensuring the integrity of Demand & Inventory Key Performance Indicators
  • Responsible for Inventory analytics and reporting and inventory efficiencies
  • SKU Segmentation and analytics and reporting relating to SKU count and SKU reduction


Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for functional integrity of the analytical APO software and demand release to Inventory & Deployment.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure demand plan input data of the highest quality
  • Find opportunities to implement VMI procedures for Distributor markets
  • Ensuring demand of all SKUs are in SAP/APO,
  • Ensure adherence to Demand Planning horizon and supervise demand plan accuracy.
  • Contributes expertise to customer development team SC members on customer-specific improvement projects.
  • Shares performance information with internal customers to develop collaborative approaches to correct inefficient behaviors or fix system disconnects.
  • Seek continuous improvement of the Demand Planning process to enhance accuracy.
  • Actively seeks standard methodologies to determine opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with customer marketing on SKU transitional process and inventory position, ensuring minimum scrap cost.
  • Work to document operating procedures and standardise the best approaches.
  • Responsible for consumption master data rules to ensure orders are consuming the forecast in a correct & timely manner
  • Lead the Demand Management phase within the Monthly Discipline cycle and participate in the Category/Retail Environment Meeting & Leadership Alignment meeting
  • Responsible for the facilitation of the monthly Commercial Gap Identification Meeting.
  • Highlight variances between the Customer Plans and Forecast based on history and Commercial Goals/ Latest Estimates or Financial Budget and seek for consensus which result in an agreed Final Demand Plan (utilizing Business intelligence reports)
  • Collaborate with deployment Team on supply constraints to the final demand plan, so that Demand and Supply are synchronized and to collaborate on “Fast Track” requests
  • Coordination Supply planning and Exports team to facilitate process improvements to drive down inventory through lead time analytics
  • Safety time calculations and recommendations on a quarterly basis and updated in the system
  • Inventory Projections and analytics - supported by reporting team into this role (monthly reporting cycle)
  • Demand planning analytics for the Mixing centre for directly from factory or DC supply (done 1-2 times per annum)
  • SKU master data - d-chain and life stage supervising through reporting team to communicate changes to ensure SKU count reduction
  • Portfolio tool created to manage sophisticated country / SKU & transitions
  • SKU Transition management through the demand analytics function to ensure the best possible outcome - no Out Of Stocks / overstocks through project management


Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 3 years of planning experience, some Supply planning or logistics experiences an advantage (Preferable in FMCG sales)
  • SAP / BI / APO experience
  • Extremely Strong Excel / Google sheets experience
  • People Management Experience
