MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  1. Preparation of all elements of the Profit and Loss statement for Management approval prior to Budget \Business Review.

  2. Direct the production of Business \Budget Review materials.

  3. Preparation and development of strategic plans for PCP categories for approval by the Commercial Director.

  4. Direct the implementation of approved strategies.

  5. Direct the detailed planning of products launches and relaunches.

  6. Ensure prompt and tactful responses to trade and consumer queries.

  7. Recommend and review pricing strategies and price increase proposal prior to Management approval.

  8. Ensure Management is kept up to date on all important group activities.

  9. Recommend means to achieve Company profit objectives for Personal Care Group

  10. Provide first level of management supervision\direction of Category Activities. 

  11. Assign priorities within the Group and ensure timeous completion of projects. 

  12. Train and develop group personnel to ensure continued career progression.

  13. Provide Management with assessment of subordinates’ progress and recommend appropriate action to improve overall efficiency with the group where necessary. 

  14. Review and agree marketing projects prior to presentation to Management and/or implementation.

  15. Review of the following periodical reports: 

 

  • Media and promotional proposal \ plans.

  • Media and promotional forward estimates prior to input into the computer for financial estimating. 

  • Quantity estimated prior to presentation to Management. 

  • Agency creative proposals.

  • Packaging design proposal. 

  • Research briefs and proposal.

  • Analysis of Research data.

 

  1. Liaise with the following departments regularly:

 

  • Brand Accounting on financial aspects of product group brands.

  • Technicians \packaging \planning\legal departments on all aspects relating to product Introductions, changes and improvements.

  • Purchasing \planning Departments on production planning and quality control.

  • Sales Department on all matters affecting sales, pricing and distribution of brands.

 

 LEVEL OF EDUCATION REQUIRED

 

  •  B.Com/Degree in Marketing, Honours Degree preferred 
  • Minimum of 3 years brand management experience (preferably in a FMCG environment) with a reasonable amount of exposure to the core
  • Marketing​ competencies: consumer insight, strategy, budget & planning, promotions​ management, business & financial mgt, new product development, media, advertising​ development & an understanding of the trade.
  • Computer Literacy (SAP, Microsoft office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
