About the role

As a CATMAN (Category Management Specialist) for Walmart you will create and share compelling stories with Customers that provide insight to how shopper behaviors are influencing our categories. You will serve as the category guide by delivering insight-based engaging category presentations and highlighting opportunities.  As the expert of the category, you'll be partnering with retailers to optimize their operations and profitability, ensuring our products move efficiently from the shelf to the consumer's home to drive their return on investment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead Category Management Strategy: Develop and present the company's category management vision and expertise to key accounts to build market dominance. Prioritize accounts and categories to ensure resources are focused on the most strategic areas of the business.

  • Drive Growth Initiatives: Analyze account and shopper data to identify opportunities and create data-driven category strategies for assortment, pricing, promotion, and merchandising. Coordinate cross-functional teams to develop best-practice templates and strategic presentations that drive business growth.

  • Manage Partnerships and Implementation: Serve as a critical partner for accounts by managing the category process, delivering high-quality, timely analysis, and ensuring ongoing collaboration. Coordinate in-field tests and implementation plans, working with sales teams to ensure smooth execution and rapid feedback.

  • Evaluate and Optimize Performance: Monitor and evaluate all tests against control groups to measure the impact of different tactics and build an understanding of category demand drivers. Use these insights to create a database of "success stories" to strengthen presentations and promote internal knowledge sharing.

  • Enhance Shopper Insights & Merchandising: Collaborate with consumer insights and channel teams to define research needs and integrate shopper insights into tailored category presentations. Develop and adapt planograms based on consumer decision trees to optimize shelf presence and support sales teams in winning at the shelf.

  • Monitor and Budget: Monitor competitive activity in category management and prepare the annual budget for all related activities, including data, research, training, and merchandising.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 2 years of experience managing the Walmart account as a Catman or a similar role
  • Experience working with Nielsen
  • Intermediate/Advanced English Level
