GTN Deduction Team Lead
Location: Mexico City
 
 
As the GTN Deduction Team Lead, you will serve as a vital financial anchor for our Colgate Business Services (CBS) organization in Mexico City. In this hybrid role, you will oversee the end-to-end review, validation, and processing of commercial deductions across promotions, pricing, returns, damages, and post-audits. Leading a high-performing team of 6–8 finance professionals, you will balance operational oversight with strategic cross-functional partnerships—collaborating directly with North America Finance, Customer Development, and Logistics leadership to minimize financial risk, drive process automation, and support Colgate-Palmolive's goal to build a healthier future for our consumers.
 
 

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Operational Oversight: Manage, coach, and develop a team of 6–8 finance professionals handling high-volume customer claims, collections, and payment workflows.
  • Financial Reporting & Risk Mitigation: Direct month-end close execution, track aging open items, and deliver actionable summaries to leadership to minimize bad debt exposure.
  • Cross-Functional & Customer Collaboration: Partner with Commercial Teams, Account Managers, Finance, Logistics, and external retail partners to resolve invoice discrepancies and secure essential documentation.
  • Dispute Resolution & Value Recovery: Validate shortage and vendor compliance claims, manage customer portal workflows, and direct AP dispute follow-ups to recover invalid deductions.
  • Process Standardization & Internal Controls: Strengthen 3-way matching internal controls, streamline end-to-end C2C workflows, conduct root-cause analysis on recurring deductions, and establish escalation protocols.
  • Digital Transformation & Continuous Improvement: Drive process optimization initiatives by leveraging automation, scripting, RPA bots, and core ERP systems like SAP and S/4HANA.

 

 

Required Qualifications
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration
  • 4+ years of professional experience in finance
  • 2+ years of experience in Credit-to-Cash (C2C) processes or commercial deduction management
  • 1+ years of direct experience leading, coaching, or managing team members
  • Business-level fluency in written and spoken English

 

 

Preferred Qualifications
 

  • Comprehensive understanding of commercial finance and Credit-to-Cash (C2C) workflows within a global CPG or FMCG organization
  • Hands-on experience driving automation projects or using enterprise tools such as SAP, S/4HANA, and RPA technologies
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and external retail partners
