Job Summary:

The Technical Manager is responsible for developing, assigning responsibility, implementing, monitoring the site’s Quality Plan and supporting the local Warehouses and Co-Packers on CP Quality Systems. This includes delivery of training, and execution of methodologies to enable the manufacturing site to deliver consistent, safe and effective products. He/she is also responsible for managing the site’s Quality Audit Program to ensure performance with standards and Quality-related regulatory requirements. 

The individual will participate in Divisional and Corporate Quality Audits to Colgate sites, suppliers and Whs. He/she will assist in developing and mentoring the site’s Quality competency and capability. The individual will leverage audit results and other data based KPI's to identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities and reduce variation and waste. He/she will build relationships and common programs with Product Development (both local RTC and Global Technology Center(s)), Local Marketing, Global and Local Packaging, and Divisional and local Management, Quality, EHS, and GML&S Departments, as well as outside consultants and suppliers.

Essential Job functions:

  • Define and implement the site specific Quality Plan, including Quality Management strategies, direction and policies with the goal of protecting the business, reducing variations and waste and improving the business.

  • Where required, ensure compliance with local Quality-related regulatory requirements, interface with Company regulatory and Legal Departments to address local regulatory issues and to communicate with local regulatory agencies.

  • Contribute to Quality Standards and Guidelines updates / enhancements. Define applicable areas of focus, time lines, resource requirements and business partners/contractors/ suppliers to drive implementation of the Quality Standards.

  • Measure Global/Divisional Quality KPI’s and periodically report progress to Senior Management.

  • Provide leadership to the quality group

  • Assist in building divisional and local capability by delivering training programs and evaluating training effectiveness.  Identify and implement new learning modules and tools.

  • Lead/participate in regional quality audits, On-shelf quality audits, Mock recall and recovery audits, annual product review, enhances supplier management (ESM) audits. Provide assistance in closing audit observations. Using audit management tools, track audit observation closure. 

  • Participate in standardizing the local Technology Transfer processes. Communicate the requirements of the process to the Global/Local Technology Centers to assure consistent and complete Technology Transfer. Actively participate in the design and implementation team for new products and engineering projects. 

  • Drive business issue resolution on quality issues and continuous improvement. Capture key learning’s, best practices, potential issues/trends and opportunities for improvement and communicate globally, divisionally and locally where required. 

  • Lead the Quality portion of the plant change management process to capture changes identified and to avoid issues that might occur.  Makes sure that the change management system is used to review projects before it commences.

  • Ensure SOP’s are updated in a timely manner and they reflect current site practices 

  • Identify next generation state of the art quality technologies and tools and assess applicability to Colgate processes.  Develop and adapt systems to enhance the performance and effectiveness of quality functions at the site level.

  • Investigate and respond to customer and consumer complaints for Gebze and other the assigned countries.

  • Manage and support the plant's quality and housekeeping programs.

  • Coordinate projects and budget proposals for the quality group for the next year’s CEB budget.

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's in a Science, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering field; Certified Quality Manager/Engineer/Auditor a plus
  • Excellent command of Turkish and English languages
    Proficient knowledge of computer systems (spreadsheets, presentations, word processing)
  • 3 years of experience Quality, Supply Chain, R&D, and/or related technical field
