The Customer Development Team, Finance Manager – Tom’s is responsible for providing financial direction and leadership to the Tom’s Customer Development Team –CDT- by leveraging financial analysis in order to enhance demand through Tom’s customers in a cost effective way. This is accomplished by tracking the P&L and GTN of the customer, review all available external data (Nielsen, POS, public domain), manage the profitability of the account, and by providing financial analysis and recommendations in order to meet our objectives. The Financial Manager is responsible for understanding the customer’s financial drivers to the business (calculation of cost of goods, margin, store invoicing, their key financial KPI's, etc.), and communicating the learning to the Customer Development Team so that Customer Management can develop more effective plans, programs, and promotions that are aligned with the customers' strategies and Tom’s. In addition, the Manager is responsible for ensuring the integrity and documentation of financial reporting related to the team's activity, its alignment with corporate policies and strategies, and that all accounting principles are properly followed.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Actively participating in account planning and business reviews;

  • Providing and recommending changes to the account business plans based on utilization of ROI analysis;

  • Staying current and aware of all competitive merchandising strategies, pricing, promotions, and spending levels;

  • Ensuring that changes to the account plans support the achievement of brand strategies and corporate goals;

  • Analyzing the impact of Corporate Events at the customer level and make recommendations that will enhance effectiveness;

  • Developing, communicating, and monitoring financial KPI's to ensure projected ASP and Net Margin targets by brand and customer are achieved;

  • Support Atlas and preparation of Monthly P/L estimate for OAM.

  • Monitoring the promotional and pricing activity at retail to ensure that investments are being implemented;

  • Managing the development, integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of the budget, LE, and P&L;

  • Monitor third-party trade investment clearing process, ensuring timely resolution of all Customer deductions.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in Accounting/Finance


Preferred Qualifications

  • Commercial Finance experience


  • Relevant systems knowledge preferred – MS Excel, Google tools, SAP and BW

  • Strong preference will be given to candidates willing to relocate to another Colgate location in approximately 2-3 year time period

Salary Range $96,640 - $134,700 USD


Pay is based on several non discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills and office location. In addition to your salary, Colgate-Palmolive offers a performance based bonus and competitive benefits package.
