Our highly energetic and focused Finance Team is dedicated to driving growth for Hills Pet Nutrition in this constantly evolving landscape. As the Financial Accountant, your understanding of the Organization and its end-to-end process is vital. You will be responsible for handling of financial documents such as balance sheets and aid in ensuring compliance in global (GAAP, IFRS, US GAAP, SOX) and local accounting standards through the placement of effective controls and guidelines to achieve a high level of accuracy. Your expertise in standardization, simplification, and continuous improvement is important to this role.

WHAT YOU WILL DO! - 

1.Preparation of Monthly Financial Accounts:

• Reconciliation of accounts, Calculating & Posting accruals and prepayment.
• Prepare month end closing pack and review P&L and Balance Sheet with FM and ensure maintenance of spend schedules for cross-functional partners

2. Financial Accounting: Provision of relevant information for monthly accrual calculations, preparation and submission of relevant market industry market data within required deadlines. 

3. Review and release of vendor payments in banking portal and purchase order creation. Application of customer cash allocations

4. Maintenance of Internal and SOX controls: Maintain and develop strong internal controls, and assist with external and internal audit results and queries.

4. Management of Cash Flow Forecasting, this will include the review and maintenance forecast, and documentation preparation for drawdown and repayment on International Loan Facility

6. Taxes: Prepare monthly VAT Return and provide supporting documentation as the need arises, aid in composition of the provisional and corporate income tax returns, withholding tax returns and with SARS audits /verifications

7. This role will assist the business in the preparation of the Annual Financial Documents including US GAAP to Statutory reconciliation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS -
-  A Bachelor's degree in Commerce / Financial accounting / Management Accounting / related degree 

-  Minimum 3 years of experience in a Financial accounting role 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - 
-  SAP or related software experience 

-  CIMA or ACCA certifications
