Job Description

The Plant Systems Engineer will be accountable for coordination and management of plant systems from an approach of people, process, and IT systems. Accountabilities include training and change management, reporting, SQL database, MES configuration, SPC concepts and quality management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support implementation and management of all integration projects in the plant. This includes managing all three aspects of the implementation, people, process, and systems.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to the sites in the region to build systems competencies in the plant.
  • Provide the technical expertise to update configurations of the plant computerized systems (SAP - WMS, QM, APO/PPDS, PM/EAM… , OPERA, SPC, Quality databases, eBuy and other systems).
  • Provide training and advanced troubleshooting to the sites technical and non-technical teams.
  • Provide guidance and training to plant operations to foster utilization. 
  • Enforce standards that ensure global consistency of manufacturing and integration systems.
  • In concert with the global team, other plant systems engineers and IT, work closely to define new, more efficient processes and system capabilities for the plants.
  • Establish and maintain close relationships with the regional IT SSO.
  • Establish and maintain close relationships with the local plant leadership team, engineering team, and plant operations team.
  • Actively participate, and support the global plant systems engineers’ network.
  • Develop, Justify and Execute Capital Expenditure Budget (CEB) initiatives related to plant systems infrastructure and optimization.
  • Support engineering and operations teams on local and continuous improvement initiatives.


Required Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, supply chain operations, and/or IT supply chain
  • 5+ years of experience  engineering, supply chain operations, and/or IT supply chain
  • Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical teams
  • Deep knowledge of manufacturing operations and core processes
  • Strong proficiency in SAP usage and deep knowledge of SAP Transactions (Production Orders, Production Confirmations, Material Movements, Quality Notifications)
  • Ability to configure and work with various databases exchanging information through the network between IT systems and control systems in manufacturing departments.

  • Cloud storage solution using Snowflake
  • Wonderware (Archestra, InBatch, Historian)
  • PLC Programming, such as Siemens and/or Allen Bradley (RS Logics 500 & 5000, Legacy Controllers)
  • Ability to configure and test plant systems
  • Proven track record of project management
  • Strong team building and training skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in engineering, supply chain operations, and/or IT Supply Chain with a minimum of 5 years' experience in the same
  • Manage and develop direct and indirect reports
  • Experience in operations management 
  • Experience in systems configuration and maintenance
