The Field Excellence Manager is part of the DACH Field Sales team of Hill’s Pet Nutrition, generating success in the Veterinary & Pet Store business (dog & cat nutrition). This role is responsible for optimizing and standardizing core commercial processes & tools to help Territory Managers maximize their time with customers and improve in-clinic execution. Partnering closely with various other departments, the Field Excellence Manager simplifies ways of working and translates strategic priorities into practical, repeatable field routines. Success is measured by higher field productivity, better customer data quality, faster cycle times, and superior customer outcomes.
Process Optimization and Standardization

Map and simplify workflows like clinic segmentation and targeting, call/visit planning, demand capture and order facilitation

Design standard operating procedures/playbooks for pre-/during-/post-visit routines

Support business development processes (customer landscape mapping, lead generation)
Tool and Data Enablement

Own field requirements as Key User for Sales Force Applications (e.g. CRM: SAP C4C)

Prioritize enhancements with IT for relevant Field Sales tools

Establish data governance for clinic master data management: Define required data for future growth and elaborate data collection procedures
Field Productivity and Execution

Optimize territory design and routing across DACH

Reduce admin time through automation (e.g. order facilitation, route planning)
Training, Change Management, and Communications

Develop role-based training on tools/processes (e.g. CRM templates)

Create quick-reference guides, playbooks, and microlearning for new hires and refreshers

Run pilots/A-B tests (e.g., new visit template) and scale proven approaches.
Team Capability Improvement

Assessment of capability status & identify individual training needs of our Field team

Develop tailored training roadmaps to strengthen commercial selling & scientific detailing skills
Performance Management

Define KPIs and run monthly/quarterly reviews on process adherence and impact.

Establish feedback loops from the field (surveys, office hours, market immersions) to continuously improve tools and workflows.
Qualification / Requirements:

FH/University degree in Business or Informatics. Veterinary background with relevant business experience in Field Sales/Process management are also qualified

Proven track record in Field Sales, Sales Operations or Retail/Professional Execution

Proven experience in process design, continuous improvement, and change management

Experience in Veterinary Nutrition/Animal Health is a plus

Tool exposure: Google Office suite, CRM, BI tools and other Sales Force Applications

Customer centricity; fluency in translating scientific priorities into practical field routines, aligned with our strategies & objectives.

Excellent internal & external stakeholder management

Strong facilitation, training, and coaching skills for Field Sales audience

Structured, data driven problem solving with hands-on mindset

High ownership and agility; comfortable piloting, iterating, and scaling.

Commercial experience in pet food business and/or veterinary industry is a plus
