DACH Commercial Finance Analyst is a business partner to the local commercial organization, providing financial insights, evaluating and challenging commercial business plans. In addition, the analyst is responsible for providing reliable financial forecasts. The role leverages commercial and technical skills gained from previous experience and reports directly to the Head of Finance DACH.
Duties and Responsibilities:
DACH budget and planning process:
- Preparation of budgets/LE and MRE including gathering input from relevant stakeholders and challenging assumptions
- Presentation of draft forecasts to Management team members
- Work towards delivering these plans with commercial team
- Submission of budget/LE and MRE related to the regional team in the required tool (e.g. SAC, BPC etc.)
- Explore opportunities to leverage budget & planning effective procedures and simplify processes
Monthly Review and Analysis:
- Perform month-end closing in accordance with US GAAP including accrual preparation, balance sheet reconciliation, internal finance reporting etc.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), particularly relating to Sales recognition and Gross-to-Net investments
- Prepare country P&L and analysis based on sell-out for a more detailed review of individual market and retail environment performance
- Provide the marketing team with adequate financial information to support and understand the impact on margin level of a new product launches, coupon activities and other promotional campaigns including ROI calculations
- Lead the “Return On Investment” mindset: “spending our Budgeted Commercial Investment smarter”
- Provide analysis and financial information to support KAMs and FSMs teams to aid them in making discussion for growth strategy and execution
- Communicate and monitor financial KPI's to ensure projected ASP/Pricing and Margin targets by brand and customer are achieved & proactively work with the teams where variances are observed
- Leverage the RGM programme to identify growth opportunities and provide financial insights
- Other ad hoc additional analysis or support to management for commercial meetings, customer negotiations, changes to Go to Market (GtM) model etc.
DACH Advertising and Promotion (A&P) / Freight & Warehousing:
- Provide timely variance reporting against budgets and LE’s
- Execute monthly accruals, ensuring that these are aligned with external and internal accounting standards for A&P and local freight and warehousing
- Provide responses to audit queries as and when requested
- Support marketing with questions and training on the process, as required
Pricing maintenance:
- Partner with marketing when new price lists are prepared
- Maintain prices and discounts in SAP
- Review usage of discount conditions in SAP and liaise between the commercial organization and GIT in the maintenance of existing conditions and development of new ones

Education / Requirements:
- Basic qualifications include: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance related field and/or formal Accounting qualification
- 3-5 years of practical experience in Finance
- Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
- Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP
- English fluent is a must, German is a plus
Due to a parental leave replacement, this position will be filled for a limited period of 18 months.
