Job Title:  Automation & Digital Engineer for Manufacturing

Main Objectives :

 

Development and implementation of manufacturing systems, digital transformation, internet of things (IoT) and automation projects.
Manage the software applications related to the operation.
Train and manage change in the plant to guarantee and promote the proper functioning and use of the systems as well as identify and communicate good practices.
Contribute to the change of profiles to develop a support and maintenance protocol for the systems by plant staff.
Encourage and promote the automation and digitization strategy in the plant, which in turn are aimed at


Functions and responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the implementation and management of projects related to automation digital transformation, considering people, processes and systems within the implementation.
  • Develop the skills required by staff and technical personnel for plant systems and digital implementations through proactive leadership and constant advice.
  • Provide technical expertise to the plant to update system configurations.
  • Application of updates and global developments to the production hardware and software of the plant.
  • Provide training in analysis and problem solving to the plant related to digital transformation and automation.
  • Provide guidance and training to plant operations to encourage utilization of the systems.
  • Apply standards that guarantee global consistency of manufacturing systems.
  • Work together with IT, Maintenance Engineers or Project Engineers, to define new processes and system capabilities that improve operation efficiencies.
  • Establish and maintain close communication with the regional IT SSO and the Regional Automation engineer to review new implementations and / or to adhere to global guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain open communication with the Managers and Manufacturing Director, the engineering team, and the plant operations team.
  • Actively participate and support the global network of systems and automation engineers for all plants.
  • Support and support in the implementation of automation projects in Colgate plants.
  • Promote automation and digitization in the plant, through project proposals in conjunction with the plants
  • Give training to employees, Supervisors, Staff on new systems to be implemented.
  • Attend training sessions to learn about new automation projects.
  • Keep monthly KPIs on digital systems.
  • Attend meetings with local and global team.

 

Basic Requirements;

 

  • University Degree in Engineering such as electronics, mechatronics, related technical field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing automation processes or projects for example; data networks, servers, databases, manufacturing software (Allen Bradley PLC, Aveva, Wonderware, etc).
  • Experience in project management and implementation.
  • Knowledge of the English language by 75% 
  • Using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) or Google Suite (docs, sheets, slides)


Preferred Qualifications:


Experience using Google Data Studio, Tableau
advanced Excel
Knowledge of IoT, internet services and Industry 4.0
