Job Summary:

The Finance Analyst is responsible for managing accounting & costing. The Finance Analyst works with Supply Chain Management to ensure financial control and legal compliance by managing daily operational tasks. The incumbent performs professional accounting work involving analysis on/ and compilation, reconciliation and consolidation of financial data. This may include any of the following: Tax Reporting (i.e. Corporate Income Tax, VAT and Payroll Tax), Account Payable / Receivables, Inter Company transactions, Capital Expension budget, Insurance Data and Budget & Planning. The Finance Analyst performs professional analysis and reports on any of the following: Standard Cost Accounting, Manufacturing Variances, Accounting and Allocation, ROI’s,Production Efficiency Reporting and Raw Material & Packaging Material spend, Purchase Price Variances, Developments on the Direct Material Market as a backup to the EU Finance Analyst position.

Essential Job functions:

• Prepares financial accounts in accordance with local accounting principles and management accounts in accordance to Colgate Financial Policies
• Ensures statutory compliance for legal filing (Financial Accounts, Statistical information)
• Ensures adequate financial control processes within the organization with a focus on inventories, production processes, fixed assets and account reconciliation
• Externally interacts with banks, auditors and service providers
• Consults and advices local management, European management and US counterparts pro-actively on costing and/or Finance subjects
• Investigates, presents and explains significant variances on budgeted corporate Supply Chain positions. Submits a monthly MRE vs latest estimate
• Supports Ad hoc projects: local, European & Global initiatives
• Is actively participating in enhancing Management Information System compliance
• Is responsible for Cash Management
• Investigates, presents and explains significant account variances actual-actual and/or actual-budget
• Takes the lead in the budgeting and planning process for costing, for budgeting Corporate Supply Chain positions and for production
• Builds reporting schedules for Manufacturing and monitors, reports and presents savings projects
• Keeps abreast of law and current legislation in relation to Finance
• Coordinates and participates in internal- and external Finance audits

Job Requirements:

Bachelor or Master degree in Finance (Accounting/Controlling)

3-5 years experience in Finance 

Advanced Google Sheets /MS Excel / SAP skills

English and Dutch language profiency
