Job Purpose

 

To deliver budgeted sales, profit growth, & share, whilst developing the day to day partnership between Colgate Palmolive and Ireland customers, within a sustainable, mutually profitable business model.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

External:

  • Build strong external networks with the Buyers/Buying Manager to raise the profile, business focus and support for Colgate within this customer.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Irish Market, competitor landscape and customer strategy, and their shopper to demonstrate how Irish customers can win & CP can optimise their brands within this environment. 
  • Develop and gain buy-in to a 12/24 month plan for Ireland.
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen in interrogating the business, in order to swiftly identify issues and opportunities for resolution/optimisation gaining buy-in from the buyers.
  • Lead a cross functional relationship with Ireland customers and Colgate Palmolive – incorporating support from Category Management and Shopper Marketing where required
  • Work closely with Colgate Palmolive UK team and align all plans with cross functional teams based in the UK
  • Share market intelligence from Nielsen / Kantar etc with the customers to continue to own the conversation

 

Internal:

  • Deliver monthly, quarterly and annual net sales/margin/profit targets by developing, aligning & implementing commercial plans aligned to customer strategy and the wider Irish Market   under the strategy and authority set by the UK Retail Marketing and CD Team leads
  • Remain fully connected & aligned with Colgate UK to ensure full understanding of Irish market trends and implications for customer v’s competitions.
  • Be a full member of the UK & Ireland Customer development Team, attend meetings when appropriate.
  • Undertake appropriate analytics to understand Ireland performance and necessary course correction plans working with Category Manager to analyse Colgate and competitor promotional plans.
  • Work with the Shopper Development Manager on in-store activation opportunities 
  • Accurately forecast volume/sales/investment through effective 5P planning and clear identification of risks and opportunities on a monthly cycle 
  • Lead the  facilitation of customer plans into the SAP system, to include volume and pricing conditions set and approved by the UK Customer Development team for all baseline and promotional events to meet the Monthly Discipline timelines. 
  • To be responsible for  ensuring smooth invoice processing, tracking and resolution of outstanding issues in collaboration with the CBS including margin reconciliations
  • To provide regular business updates to UK team, and provide recommendations to grow key metrics faster

  • Review ongoing investment model to ensure optimum sales & margin plan
