Resume of the Position: 

 

DEPARTMENT’S TOP 3 OBJECTIVES:

  1. Design and create the technology platform and pipeline, formula Funding the Growth and simplification strategies, and new products focused on delighting the consumer, taking a consumer or professional insight or a technology lead and leveraging it in support of the category strategies. 

  2. Define the technical strategy for selected areas including formula-driven improved delivery and efficacy, next-generation ingredients, and new product forms and sensory signals, increasing the number of patents and intellectual property, delivering added value for the company.

  3. Serve as the critical linkage to the rest of the Global Technology organization for each category, and provides the central category voices to our global and division business partners – Global Marketing, Division Innovation and Marketing, and Global Supply Chain.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the conceptualization, design, management and data analysis of assigned projects including finding new technologies, leveraging consumer insights, conducting preliminary feasibility assessments on new technology and conducting basic foundation research and clinical trials.

  • Assist with formula development, stability evaluation, evaluation of formula properties and communication of results with other functions.

  • Conduct assigned activities/projects, with self-management as necessary.

LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISION:

  • Manage assigned projects and activities without compromising timelines

  • Lead by example

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working under general supervision, assist in the conceptualization, design, management and data analysis within the assigned brand.

  • Find new technologies to translate consumer insights into finished methods and products using sound scientific principles.

  • Conduct preliminary feasibility assessments on new technology and conduct basic foundation research and lab performance evaluation.

  • Summarize product and process development learning, and communicate results through research reports, invention records, presentations to management and business partners, etc.

  • Assist in the formula development, stability evaluation, and evaluation of performance to support claims.

  • Interact with other functions, including Safety, Process Development & Innovation, Micro, Analytical, Statistics, Technology Insights, Regulatory and other groups as needed.

  • Compile data required to ensure and conduct efficient technology transfer.

  • Ensure assigned activities are conducted and documented according to Quality requirements and systems; implement applicable preventive or corrective actions; ensure students and/or technicians collaborating in assigned projects execute and document activities according to Quality requirements and systems.

  • Ensure and maintain accurate documentation such as notebooks, necessary Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and bundle books.

  • Understand and use safe handling procedures for corrosive chemicals, gases, high pressure steam, flammable solvents, and fine particle size powders.

  • Comply with and coordinate/execute Good Manufacturing Practices and Environmental Affairs, Occupational Health and Safety (EOHS) activities; takes preventive and corrective actions to mitigate potential EOHS or Quality incidents.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Whtat do you need for the position: 

  • Bachelor´s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Material Science or Biotechnology

  • At least 1 year of Consumer Goods Industry Experience (Research & Development or chemistry industry)

  • Preferred: Knowledge of analytical, rheology, emulsion chemistry, surfactants and mixing

  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English

  • Organizational skill with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint

  • Academic publications (desirable)
