Job Purpose


  • Execute CP Demand & Supply Planning Fundamentals
  • To manage preparation, alignment, and communication of a high quality Demand Plan for a rolling 18 month horizon  and play a key role in the Monthly Discipline process and ensure this is done as per monthly deadline
  • Work with Customer Development to understand Customer plans, launches, distribution changes, fast tracks and highlight significant negative forecast trends.
  • Identify and, together with SNP, help resolve key supply issues and constraints within the medium term horizon
  • Work with Marketing on forecasting, planning and execution for all NPD and soft transitions
  • Address Demand/Supply related issues in an effective and timely manner


Key Responsibilities


  • Life cycle planning
    • Key Contact for CS&L in Category Gateway Process
    • Maintain a complete list of all SKU’s which links / identifies the new SKU / timing of change and relevant master data elements to enable visibility of planned changes and the execution.
    • Work cross functionally through the Gateway Process to finalise/Align pipeline volume for new products.
    • Track/measure actual shipments & conduct post launch analysis.
    • Collaborate with cross functional teams to manage & communicate SKU life cycle changes.
    • Manage appropriate SKU EOL, minimise write-off costs without generating Inventory exposure. Prepare and align on agreed Volumes/Values for business Governance.


  • Build a collaborative demand plan
    • Build and Maintain a robust 18 month”Unconstrained” rolling forecast by SKU in APO.
    • Gather customer plans (baseline, promotions & new products) & other key information from multi-functional team (CDT's, customer development from Hub or country, consumer marketing). 
    • Determine deviations vs. statistical demand plan, gain alignment, & document key assumptions. 
    • Ensure all SKU’s are updated in SAP before the agreed monthly cutoff for Demand planning - mandatory monthly requirement
    • Maximise use of Statistical Forecast on appropriate SKUs, and review Quarterly and align on agreed SKU’s
    • Ensure Transitions and NPD are planned/aligned with Business based on agreed launch timings within APO.
    • Ensure alignment of final demand plan to supply plan. (Current  &  New products). Evaluate changes to demand, inventory, and customer backlogs. Identify resource constraints, potential solutions, and impact on “unconstrained demand plan”.
    • Monitor orders and shipments on a regular basis.  Understand sources of significant changes & flag to commercial and supply chain partners. Facilitate resolution of demand requirements outside of agreed to tolerances via “Fast Track Process”


  • Monthly Discipline
    • Ensure Compliance to Monthly Forecasting discipline
    • Prepare and present key deviations for resolution/escalation
    • Prepare & participate in the monthly Commercial Business Planning (CBP) discipline process to develop an aligned demand plan for SKU’s assigned to responsibility
    • Gaps & opportunities are identified, quantified & addressed. Business performance for the most recent month, quarter, YTD vs. plan is reviewed.
    • Highlight in the monthly Commercial alignment meeting where Atlas Forecasts are missing or in excess of analytics per product.
    • Communicate the aligned demand plans developed during the Monthly CBP Discipline process to cross functional partners.


  • Inventory & SLOB Management
    • Evaluate Future SLOB, highlighting key risks/exposures
    • Drive conversation/solutions for products with history or continuous projection of risk, to enable solution/alignment for future Inventory Management.
    • Agree/Align on correctional actions with key stakeholders
    • Root cause analysis - review skus with SLOB/Inventory risk to understand “Real” driver to provide clear action plans/corrections to be made, escalated and communicated


  • Simplification 
    • Partner with Customer Experience Team and Retail Marketing to achieve portfolio simplification.
    • Highlight products which no longer meet Manufacturing hurdle rates
    • Highlight new products below Initial Volume Projections which require strategic change to avoid write off


  • Measure and track performance
    • Utilise business reporting to drive improvement of demand planning accuracy for the total subsidiary, and category level categorised by new products, regular items, & promotional items. Sources of Demand Planning bias are identified, addressed, and eliminated.


  • Build organisational capability & drive change management
    • Support the development of demand planning competencies and capabilities leveraging change management principles.

Personal Attributes


  • Education/Experience:
    • Honours Degree in Business, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance or Logistics or equivalent Experience
    • 5+ years of Consumer Goods experience in Customer Development, Manufacturing, Customer Service & Logistics, Finance, and/or Marketing.
    • Proven track record in Demand Planning/Forecasting
