Job Summary
The NIR Specialist is responsible for supporting the evaluation, development and implementation of rapid on-line/in-line/at-line methods for process monitoring, control, and release of raw materials, premixes, and finished products in compliance with CP Standards and Guidelines. This position provides technical support to manufacturing facilities in the areas of analytical chemistry, Near-Infared (NIR) and chemometric techniques, development and validation of calibration curves, technology transfer and training.

Education/ Experience Requirements
Basic qualifications include:

B.A./B.S. degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Microbiology, Biochemistry or related field

Italian speaking proficiency
-
1-3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment / chemical laboratory

Basic proficiency / experience with analytical testing methods (rapid & conventional)
Preferred qualifications include:
-
3-5 years of experience preferably in the food industry with a focus on laboratory testing
-
Detailed knowledge of NIR operation software (ISIScan, ISINova,Mosaic, etc.) or comparable laboratory software and equipment
-
English speaking proficiency

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

Proficient knowledge of HACCP, cGMPs, and SPC

Proficient Computer skills including; Google Suite, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and SAP

Excellent attention to detail

Excellent critical thinking skills used to evaluate relevant information and make determinations about compliance to laws, regulations, policies, or standards

Proficient at collaborating with EU Regulatory agencies, Customers, or other agencies during an audit
Travel Requirements
Expected percentage of travel: Up to 5%
