Customer Development Finance is the primary business partner and Financial Leader for local Customer Development Teams. They utilize internal and external expertise to drive business decisions through Customer financial planning, simulation & analytics. 


The objectives of Customer Development Finance is to: 

  • Provide Financial Leadership and strong analytics to the Customer Development team
  • Coordinate Customer Planning
  • Ensure appropriate financial controls, particularly relating to Sales Recognition and GtN investments
  • Resolve Customer Payment and Deductions issues
  • Provide input into Commercial Monthly process and Budget/LE Enhance overall finance function effectiveness, through global standardization, best practices and scale
  • Act as key supplier of financial talent for the global finance organization 
  • Maintain overall finance compliance and provide policy adherence 


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring & evaluating on/off strategy promotions and pricing activities
  • Establishing customer baseline spend plan & review T&Cs
  • Daily tracking & management of GtN (incl. GtN reconciliation)
  • Contributing to delivery of Financial KPIs particularly Net Sales, Pricing and Margin Goals, driving business results through communication of Customer/RE R&Os and proposing solutions
  • Conducting analyses that support recommendations to changes in Customer plans, based on What ifs computation in order to drive growth by RE / Customer 
  • Assisting CD team with baseline and promotion planning
  • Reviewing customer plans for reasonableness
  • Reconciling "Bottoms-up plan" vs. "Rolling the six quarters forecast" released by B&P
  • Participating in the Commercial Monthly Discipline Process
  • Tracking & monitoring "Growth Plan" investment by P&L line, subsidiary by managing outstanding balances and enforcement of credit notes
  • Developing simulation of future period financial to set NS and Margin goals
  • Coordinating with B&P and commercial partners to develop LE for volume & GtN
  • Evaluating promotion activities and provide list pricing & SPI recommendations
  • Providing monthly management reporting 
  • Solidifying systems knowledge and expertise (e.g., CBP and BI) while also providing training and reporting to Commercial users
  • Having an understanding of Colgate Financial Policies as they relate to the commercial team 
  • Seeking out Customer knowledge, raising engagement levels and establishing relationships with Customers


Minimum Required Education, Experience and Professional Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Relevant systems knowledge ( MS Excel, R, Python, Colab (Entorno para ejecutar Python/R)
  • Tableau, Power BI, Domo) and SAP
  • Data analytic advance experience
  • English: Advanced 
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills

 

It is desired:

  • MBA a plus
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, SOX and Colgate Financial Policy
