At Hill's Pet Nutrition, the Customer Development Manager- Vet Ecosystems & Marketplaces position’s primary responsibility is to customize and implement Hill's vet ecosystem & brand strategies to increase conversion and omnichannel recommendations of Hill’s in order to grow the nutrition category. The role focuses on complex veterinary ecosystem partners that reach high volumes of veterinary professionals and pet parents, and includes ecosystem management responsibilities for strategic home delivery partners. These ecosystems encompass PIMs (Practice Integrated Management Systems) software, platforms, telehealth, B2B and B2B2C. The role also facilitates our 3rd party marketplace relationships in the Vet Channel and Beyond.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Day to day contact with The Ecosystem partner and Marketplace teams to ensure that Hill’s is the Partner of choice

  • identify areas of opportunity for products and programs, develop customer specific 6P strategies that incorporate consumer insights, and have an awareness of competitor activity to deliver against business objectives

  • Develop and maintain processes and plans to analyze the customer’s business channels. Evaluates business trends, shopper insights, and findings from post analysis of performed activities

  • Leads partnership meetings to influence support of Hill’s Go-to-Market plans

  • Develops and implements annual strategic plans and initiatives to achieve the commercial and category goals

  • Developing digital activations and data capabilities to drive the category and Hill’s business

  • Customizes specific programs with Hill’s Shopper Marketing, Data and Analytics, and PVA - using Hill’s strategies and veterinary expertise to drive incremental sales

  • Establish partnerships with internal and external cross-functional teams.

  • Builds and maintains accurate volume, promotion and spend forecasts for VSHD, Marketplaces  and/or B2B to reflect baseline sales and promotion plans, including managing customer payments

  • Collaborates internally to implement the Hill’s retail environment and brand strategy within investment guidelines

  • Drives forward actions in monthly customer planning meetings to review actuals plus plan-to-go

  • Day to day contact with our key partner who manage our online marketplace customers 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field

  • 8 years experience in a sales role managing large, sophisticated customer relationships or 6+ years of relevant experience with a Masters/MBA degree

  • Experience working with B2B or Marketplace Customers

  • Experience managing partnership agreements or vendor contracts

  • Strong influence and negotiations skills for mutually beneficial solutions with persistence, compromise, and respect

  • Ability to discover common ground, identify vital interests, and understand the customer’s underlying priorities

  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving capabilities, to develop share-driving 6P recommendations

  • Ability to create highly influential and persuasive presentations, using slideshow tools (G-Slides, PPT)

  • Ability to manage ambiguity and strategize solutions for the customer’s business and 6P plan performance and quickly develop alternative plans as needed

  • Ability to work effectively across functions, channels, and categories to align priorities, solve problems, optimize resources, and drive effective execution

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the US Vet Industry

  • Experience working with Software Vendors or Partners

  • Experience working with cloud based analytics tools


Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $124,000.00 - $174,000.00 USD

Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.

Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
