COMPOUNDING TECHNICIAN
COLGATE-PALMOLIVE - BURLINGTON, NJ 

The Colgate-Palmolive Flavor Center produces and ships flavors used in Colgate Oral Care products around the world.  In this position, the individual  works as a team member in all aspects of the facility including flavor compounding, shipping, receiving , minor maintenance, and computer applications.  They work closely  with others to achieve our business objectives of safety, quality, sustainability, productivity and cost. Accountabilities of the job also include safety and quality compliance, data collection, housekeeping, problem solving, continuous improvement, and communication as part of the work team. 


Responsibilities include:

  • Understanding and accountability for full compliance with safety and other EHS requirements.
  • Understanding and accountability for following all Quality and GMP standards and guidelines.
  • Material handling for shipping, receiving and production.
  • Production and packaging of flavor batches through interaction with computer driven batch making processes and SAP driven material management.
  • Adherence to shipping regulations requirements (DOT, IMDG, IATA).
  • Following SOPs and accurately maintaining all documentation. 
  • Utilizing SAP to confirm in-house availability of materials for production and order fulfillment. 
  • Know and understand the planned schedule to coordinate the upstream and downstream processes by working with others in planning, warehouse, receiving and vendor representatives.
  • Leverage Google Tools and Windows applications to work with others in receiving, shipping, material replenishment. 
  • Active participation in continuous learning opportunities, production reviews and other plant-wide events.
  • Leverage SAP tools for Customer Orders, Production Plans and Material Orders.  
  • Manage and coordinate resources and communicate plans through Google Tools and SAP.
  • Communicate with customers and vendors to support the business needs.
  • Other duties as required.


Required Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year prior experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.
  • Do you have strong computer skills in the following applications MS Office and Google Tools? 
  • Practical experience with  attention to detail, initiative, and managing multiple priorities.
  • Practical experience in problem solving, decision making,  and effective communication.
  • Are you able to perform the essential physical functions of this position as they have been described in the job description either with or without an accommodation?

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Technical College or Vocational College certificate in a related field.
  • Experience with SAP and Wonderware applications.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Lift 18 lb lance in production area up to 30 times per hour for a cumulative 2 hours per day.
  • Lift and dump crystal / powders from a 50 lb fiber drum to a tank up to 60 times a day for cumulative 2 hours per day.
  • Ability to dump raw materials into a tank requiring gripping of the container.
  • Ability to occasionally work with a vertical lifting range of 30 cm above shoulder or reach limit, up to 30 times per hour.
  • Ability to walk unlimited distances each workday on concrete floors.
  • Must have peripheral vision for forklift driving.

 Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $  - $ USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:
