The Commercial Finance Controller is the Central Europe east Hub Finance voice on the ground and is responsible for tracking, monitoring and evaluating Colgate-Palmolive financial performance in Hungary with a special focus on customers’ profitability. He/She monitors DSO and ADP by customer by coordinating information flow between Shared Service Center and local team. The commercial finance controller is as well working closely with Retail Marketing in Hungary to understand Brand trends and profitability as well as elaborating sales and profitability forecasts. 

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Forecasts & Reportings

  • Lead monthly Commercial Business Planning process
  • Elaborate and communicate sales quarterly targets
  • Work with General Manager and Retail Marketing to elaborate sales forecast and local advertising forecast for monthly estimates as well as official forecasts ( Budget, and 2 yearly estimates)
  • Provide Local Team with Reportings highlighting how the team is progressing vs targets
  • Drive ROI (Return on Investment) mindset and develop analysis for the team on main promo mechanics
  • Provide Sales team with all necessary analysis for customer’s yearly negotiations

 

Gross to Net (Rebates) accuracy and completeness

  • Ensure GTN accuracy by mastering promotions information flow from Rebate accrual creation to settlement
    • Understand flow of information and approval need from CBP (sales planning tool) to SAP
    • Make sure that Temporary Price Reductions (TPR) are in accordance with price strategy
    • TPRs and EDLP (Everyday Low Price) discounts are entered into SAP on a daily basis
    • Make sure that approvals are obtained for relevant price reduction
    • Manage pricing conditions in SAP (contracts)
  • Monthly reporting of GTN by customer’s account and nature of discount
  • Maintain close partnership and communication with Sales team and General manager
  • Attend sales meetings

 

Pricing

  • Coordinate with sales team SPIs (Selling price increases) calculation and implementation
  • Update pricing in SAP based on aligned price lists 

 

Accounts Receivable management in collaboration with Shares Service Center and Local Sales

  • Supervise sales invoicing and manage corrections
  • Highlight VAT related issue to Hungary Tax manager for swift resolution
  • DSO (Day Sales Outstanding) & ADP (Average Days to Pay) management
  • Monitor customer payment performance and identify key issues
  • Support resolution of disputes swiftly and accurately
  • Establishes and maintains working relationship with Shared Service Center in Poland and local Sales team
  • Coordination of shipments release when needed
  • Credit limits calculation
  • Manage archiving process
  • Cooperation with legal department and credit info. agencies
  • Monthly coordination of closing and management reporting on AR
  • Support on internal and external reporting and audits
  • Ad-hoc analysis for Management and reporting purposes

 

Monthly Closing

  • Check completeness of rebates for GTN, adjust with manual rebates where needed
  • Check completeness of invoicing with Shared Service Center
  • Complete monthly SOX testing requirements
  • Close Sales in SAP PA - analytical accounting
  • Calculate sales bonus monthly accrual, calculate quarterly bonus
  • Coordinate close of local advertising with Retail marketing and hub Finance team
  • Reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement G/L accounts

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong Commercial Finance background,
  • Experience in Commercial finance/External audit (Big 4) / internal audit and process improvement will be beneficial.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Result oriented
  • Very good communication & presentation skills to collaborate with colleagues on streamlining work processes, as well as interfacing with organizational management and outside auditors.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence to obtain results
  • Detail oriented while understanding big picture
  • Curious mind and especially about the business
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Hungarian speaker
