Job Purpose:

 

The Finishing Focus Factory Manager is responsible for leading the finishing operations, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires strategic oversight and hands-on leadership to optimize production efficiency and implement FP&R methodologies within the focus factory.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Safety Leadership:

    • Champion safety culture by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular risk assessments.

    • Organize comprehensive safety training programs for staff at all levels.

  • Quality and Compliance:

    • Implement robust quality assurance programs, adhering to industry standards and company policies.

    • Lead audits and initiate quality improvement projects to enhance product integrity and customer satisfaction.

  • Operational Excellence:

    • Oversee the effective operation of the finishing department, including filling machines and other production equipment.

    • Ensure resource allocation aligns with production schedules to meet customer demands.

  • Strategic Leadership:

    • Develop and execute strategic plans to meet production goals within the finishing operations.

    • Provide leadership and direction to teams, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.

  • Team Development:

    • Mentor and coach team leaders, supporting career development and succession planning.

    • Conduct performance reviews, providing actionable feedback and facilitating growth opportunities.

  • Maintenance and Continuous Improvement:

    • Spearhead Preventive Maintenance (PM), Autonomous Maintenance (AM), and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.

    • Apply FP&R principles to maximize equipment performance and drive efficiency improvements.

  • Financial and Resource Management:

    • Manage budgets and optimize resource utilization to achieve cost-effective production.

    • Analyze operational data to inform decision-making and support strategic investments.

Standard Requirements:

 

  • Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least 10 years in a production setting OR

    • Diploma degree in Engineering with at least 15 years in a production setting, with a minimum of 10 years in a supervisory capacity.

    • Extensive experience in production management, with a history of leadership in a manufacturing setting.

    • Proven track record of managing large teams and complex projects.

  • Skills:

    • Strong leadership and strategic planning capabilities.

    • Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills.

    • Proficiency in production management software and analytics tools.

  • Attributes:

    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for diverse stakeholder engagement.

    • Expertise in 5S, TPM, FP&R, and other productivity methodologies.

 

Performance Metrics:

 

  • Achievement of production, safety, and quality targets.

  • Advancement of FP&R projects and reduction in production costs.

  • Improvement in machine uptime and reduction of cycle times.

  • Employee development, engagement, and retention rates.
