Associate Manager Regulatory Affairs

As the Regulatory Affairs Specialist for Market Access, you will be the primary driver for product registrations, renewals, and import/export compliance across the EMEA region, with a specific focus on non-EU markets. This role is critical in bridging the gap between manufacturing and global commercialization, ensuring our life-changing pet nutrition reaches markets efficiently. You will act as a strategic partner, collaborating with global regulatory colleagues, supply chain teams, and government agencies (including veterinary control authorities) to optimize time-to-market and navigate complex trade landscapes.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Market Access & Compliance

  • Lead Regulatory Resolution: Solve complex problems related to registrations and import/export flows for the EMEA portfolio.

  • Authority Liaison: Build and maintain professional relationships with Dutch, Czech, Italian, and other international veterinary control authorities.

  • Logistics Collaboration: Partner with Customer Service and Logistics (CS&L) to ensure all regulatory hurdles are cleared for timely product dispatch.

  • Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency in regulatory workflows and service levels.

  • Audit & Documentation: Supervise the creation of, and audit for accuracy, all compliant regulatory documentation for international shipments.

Strategy & Intelligence

  • Regulatory Strategy: Advise the business on successful product introduction strategies based on in-depth knowledge of country-specific import/export requirements.

  • Intelligence Management: Research and maintain country-specific regulatory intelligence files; author regulatory Points of View (POVs) and assessments for Product Inventory Reviews (PIRs).

  • Registration Oversight: Manage the end-to-end registration process, including data analysis and certificate preparation, while overseeing the Importation and Registration database.

Representation & Engagement

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Represent the EMEA Regulatory Affairs team in project meetings with R&D, Marketing, Legal, and Procurement.

  • Trade Advocacy: Act as the Hill’s representative within the European Pet Food Association (FEDIAF) and the Czech Pet Food Association.

Candidate Profile

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field. A scientific or technical background (e.g., Biochemistry, Biology, Veterinary Science) is highly preferred.

  • Proven industry experience in regulatory affairs, market access, or export compliance roles.

Expected Areas of Knowledge:

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office and web-based technologies; experience with relational and non-relational database systems is a plus.

  • A meticulous approach to documentation, tracking, and information interpretation.

  • Fluent in English (written and verbal) with the ability to influence both internal stakeholders and external government agencies.

  • Self-motivated and able to thrive while working independently, yet remains a collaborative team player across diverse departments.

  • A proactive and highly ethical approach to compliance and regulatory standards.
