The Plant Procurement Specialist (PPS) is responsible for ensuring the supply, cost, quality, and service of a group of materials for the Plant he/she is responsible for. The PPS will be responsible for flawlessly implementing the strategies developed by the Global & Division Procurement Leaders into the plant.
The PPS will identify and resolve all purchasing related issues for the materials/suppliers associated with the plant, will be responsible for price and price forecast management, for the service/quality issues, market knowledge affecting materials assigned to him/her for his/her plant, FTG coordination and reporting for the plant projects, implications of NPD, supply chain & supplier management tools (Vendor Scorecard, SMI implementation, etc..). He/She will also be responsible for identifying and driving savings for all materials of responsibility.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage material spend, negotiating TCO terms & leading innovation for assigned portfolio creating value from supplier’s relationship
- Facilitate the relationship between supplier & plant functions (mainly planning and quality) supporting resolution of customer service/quality issues
- Function as Procurement contact for the manufacturing plant & support/drive process harmonization among plants
- Implement & Lead, as assigned and defined, cross-plant material portfolio management and initiatives
- Facilitate procurement & category new project implementation @ plant level
- Be the liaison between Category Material Manager (CMM) & local plant functions as necessary, ensuring also to guarantee enough capacity @ supplier in order to support the plant short and long term demand requirements
- Lead the quarterly plant/procurement, the supplier/plant meetings for continuous improvement & Vendor scorecard completion and follow up with the suppliers
- Lead Risk Management initiatives for managed portfolio via chemical assessment for raw and molded parts monitoring (utilization, RAMPS, qualification plan…)
- Ensure compliance with ESM, SRSA, CDP, etc… policies / objectives
- Accountable for the Purchasing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and working with the entire Category Supply Chain (FTG, Spend track, Risk Mgmt, Legal coverage, PPV, etc…)
- Provides input for “Top to Top” meetings and, when necessary, presents Purchasing performance and strategies
- Executes efforts in using new “e-tools” to help drive Funding the Growth, simplification and standardization programs/initiatives
- Leads plant implementation of SMI with appropriate suppliers
- Develops documented understanding of market structure and drivers for his/her materials, with risk management overview, and identifies opportunities and threats for the future
Education:
B.A./B.S. Degree in a technical or business field
Experience:
2-3+ years Purchasing or Supply Chain experience;
SAP experience is an advantage
