Role Overview:

Hill’s Pet Nutrition is seeking a pioneering AI Creative Technologist to lead the integration of artificial intelligence into our creative workflows. This role on the Strategic Creative Services team is for a true hybrid innovator who sits at the intersection of creative strategy, design, and emerging technology. Unlike a traditional AI engineer, you are a creative first, someone who understands the creative process, storytelling, and design aesthetics, but possesses the technical chops to build, test, and implement AI tools that empower our makers. Ideally, you have a proven track record in a fast-paced creative agency or studio environment, working as a proper creative technologist to bridge the gap between imagination and execution. You will be responsible for architecting, building, and maintaining agentic AI systems that will empower our team of copywriters, designers, and video artists, ensuring Hill's remains at the forefront of marketing innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain agentic AI systems and custom workflows tailored specifically to the needs of our creative team (copywriters, designers, video artists), acting as the primary bridge between technical capabilities and creative output.

  • Act as the primary administrator, translator, and subject matter expert for all AI tools and platforms used by the Strategic Creative Services team.

  • Lead the practice of creative prompt engineering, developing sophisticated, context-aware prompts to guide AI models and ensure high-quality, on-brand creative outputs.

  • Collaborate closely with creative, marketing and AI leadership to identify opportunities where AI can solve business challenges, automate repetitive tasks, and unlock new creative expressions.

  • Establish and manage a robust quality control process for all AI-enabled systems and content, ensuring accuracy, brand consistency, and ethical use.

  • Train, mentor, and inspire creative team members on best practices for leveraging AI tools in their daily conceptual and production workflows.

  • Stay relentlessly current with the latest advancements in generative AI, large language models, and creative technology, rapidly prototyping new ideas to act as a key innovation advisor to the business.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or related field

  • 3+ years of experience working with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Modern Web Frameworks, Python, JavaScript) to create custom tools, applications, APIs, and integrations

  • 3+ years of deep, hands-on experience with major generative AI platforms, APIs, and large language models (LLMs)

  • 2+ years of experience working directly within a creative agency or fast-paced production studio as a dedicated Creative Technologist

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong skills in prompt engineering and an intuitive understanding of how to interact with and guide AI systems to achieve specific, high-fidelity creative outcomes

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing new systems (ideally within an advertising agency, creative studio, or internal brand team)

  • Experience in building AI agents and agentic workflows in Retool, n8n, LangChain, or similar applications

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating interactive projects, prototypes, or campaigns where you have successfully applied AI or technology to solve creative or business problems (GitHub preferred)

  • Familiarity with the creative process and the tools used by designers, writers, and video producers (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma)

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts and provide clear, actionable recommendations

  • Strong understanding of the ethical considerations, copyright issues, and limitations of AI in a corporate brand environment

  • Experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry
