We invite applications for the position of Professional Consulting Veterinarian - Eastern Canada (Montreal). As a Professional Consulting Veterinarian for Hill's Pet Nutrition, you will be an integral member of a Professional Veterinary Affairs team responsible for meeting Veterinary Affairs goals through the influence of veterinary key thought leaders, general practitioners, healthcare teams, veterinary students and technician students to recommend and sell Hill’s products. This position ensures that Hill’s is positioned as an important scientific, innovative and credible partner who is engaged in improving the health of dogs and cats and in supporting the profession. This position serves as the technical liaison for the region; consulting, coaching and training Veterinary Account Managers for the Veterinary channel.

 

Responsibilities for this position include:

 

- Enhances Field Sales representatives’ technical and product expertise through training and field work. 

- Develops and grows trusting relationships with Key Thought Leaders in private specialty practice, general practice and academia to identify and implement opportunities to deliver relevant continuing education, participate in Feeding Experiences and identify candidates for networking studies. 

- Influences practice success through nutritional education and 5VA coaching and skill-building training with hospital healthcare teams. 

- Develops and grows trusting relationships with regional and local veterinary associations to identify, target and prioritize opportunities that support Hill’s strategies.

- Attends national/regional/specialty conferences and works Hill’s exhibit booth, building relationships and influencing conference attendees to recommend and sell Hill’s products. 

- Facilitates and improves utilization of Hill’s messaging and client education materials by liaising with Professional Veterinary Affairs Manager, as well as Veterinary Customer Development and Marketing.

- Work with Hill’s student representatives to identify and coordinate opportunities to create a positive identity as an important scientific, innovative and credible partner for Hill’s and Hill’s products 

- Partner, as a member of the Veterinary Affairs team, with Consumer and Customer Marketing to develop the technical bundle and key messaging to roll out new product launches and technical news for all products.

 

Qualifications:

 

Basic Qualifications:

- Graduate degree in veterinary medicine with current

veterinary license in at least one province

- 4+ years of clinical practice experience

- Must be able to work independently, manage a

demanding schedule with irregular hours and manage travel

within region

- Hold a valid driver’s license with a driving record that

passes Hill’s standards

- Ability to work flexible hours

- Ability to travel overnight (up to 25%) when business

necessitates

- Computer literacy in Excel, Word, Powerpoint

 

Preferred Qualfications:

- Industry experience an asset
