Software Architect, Connected Health
We are excited to invite applications for the position of Software Architect within our Colgate Connect team. Operating within the world’s leading Oral Care Company, Colgate Connect is a small team working in a startup-like environment. We debuted our E1 toothbrush in 2018 exclusively through Apple - it’s a true breakthrough and only the beginning with a manual offering (M1) and a kids Augmented Reality experience building the base of an exciting portfolio of products and experiences.
The ideal candidate is experienced in software development, Continuous integration/ Continuous Deployment tools, is highly self-motivated and can work well across a diverse and evolving team of both internal and external partners. They are proactive, able to prioritize, demonstrating excellent communication skills with technical and nontechnical audiences. We are looking for a strong team player with ability to collaborate with diverse team members to deliver optimal solutions supporting Colgate Connect platform.
Main responsibilities:
• Establish a technical vision for the Colgate Connect backend (backend application, DevOps infrastructure) and work with the development team to turn it into reality.
• Lead the design and deployment of the Colgate Connect backend and DevOps in support of all aspects of the Colgate Connect ecosystem. Ensuring a modular architecture for easy integration of new technology and third party integrations.
• Develop and maintain roadmap for backend applications, CI/CD and infrastructure.
• Develop and implement automated testing strategy and programs.
• Oversight and prioritization of the platforms development activities, with a focus on performance and reliability, test automation, standardization and refactoring in collaboration with the Product Management team.
• Responsible for the quality of the groups technical deliverables.
• Mentor technical resources on methods, procedures, and standards to be used during the design, development, and unit testing.
• Foster strong team dynamics across multiple locations.
• Develop and manage the roadmap for maintaining all platform components at current versions, reducing the potential for P&R issues.
• Ensure appropriate monitoring and alerts are in place for all platform components, and appropriate process for its management.
• Define and track appropriate KPIs for development and associated process related activities.
• Assess current and identify appropriate developer tools, processes, application support needs.
• Ensure appropriate infrastructure and backend is in place to facilitate Analytics and Data Science efforts.
• Stay abreast of, and provide inputs to relevant technology best practices across GIT and externally.
• Proactively propose these new technologies as solutions to business challenges/opportunities.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Engineering or similar degree
• At least 5+ years’ experience developing and deploying end to end applications
• More than 4+ years of experience in software development (Continuous integration/ Continuous development tools)
• Python knowledge programming
• Experience leading or working on Agile/SCRUM development teams
• Strong experience with test driven development methodologies
• Experience with relational database technologies and data modeling
• Familiarity with REST API and web service development
• Continuous integration/deployment software
• Experience with container based software development/architecture
Preferred Experience:
• Developing applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Provisioning / orchestration software (Terraform, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of wearables technology
• Familiarity with data privacy concepts (GDPR, PCI, HIPAA)
• Django knowledge programming
