Colgate-Palmolive invites applications to a postdoctoral research Scientist (PDRS) position located in Piscataway, NJ. This is a two (2) year fixed term of at-will employment.


The key responsibilities of this position are as follows:


  • Design and execute experiments using cellular and molecular biological assays to investigate target biology and mechanisms of action.
  • Develop novel in vitro assay systems that are predictive of in vivo biology.
  • Identify new & compelling approaches to convert technology benefits to consumer recognized new benefit areas and/or product claims
  • Interpret and communicate complex experimental results to both technical and non-technical business partners effectively.
  • Present technical findings to internal R&D community & management teams, external conferences, and to document findings in internal technical reports and/or external publications.


Required Qualifications:


  • PhD in Molecular Biology or Cellular & Molecular Biology, with 0-2 years of post-doc experience
  • Substantial knowledge in oral biology and OMICs, target selection and target screening.  We are particularly interested in candidates who have combined molecular biology with cutting edge nano-sciences to develop advanced tools and technologies for managing biofilm and microbiome related oral inflammation and diseases.
  • Hands-on experience with processing oral tissues using fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) and basic immunology techniques including FACS, immunofluorescence, ELISA, ELISPOT, cytokine and chemokine detection
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and highly organized in terms of goal setting and achieving.
  • Ability to initiate and think independently and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated and have ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels and work closely with other early research and product development teams when necessary.
  • Proven ability to interpret and summarize scientific data in an accurate, critical and concise manner
  • Strong record of peer-reviewed publications


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Preferably have experience and knowledge in developing new methodology and target site specificity probes for imaging or spectroscopy.
  • Familiar with mammalian and primary cell culture and have basic knowledge in nanoparticle characterization.
