The Microbiologist is responsible for implementing Micro Control programs in conjunction with the Plant Microbiology Supervisor to ensure all production meets the requirements/specifications.  Ensure the operational integrity of the micro lab. Provide technical micro support to the site.


  • Perform microbiological testing of raw materials, water, work-in-process, and finished product for product approval and release
  • Support development and implement plant-wide Microbiological Control Program
  • Support, maintain and utilize KPIs system to drive continuous improvement, identify trends and draw conclusions
  • Assist with product, equipment, and Cleaning & Sanitizing validations
  • Maintain lab equipment and calibrations
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the Laboratory Quality Control Systems
  • Complete Failure Investigations and properly document Out of Specification results
  • Knowledgeable of cGMP’s and understand the OTC drug or pharmaceutical industry expectations
  • Provide product release notification to Colgate distribution system and SAP transactions
  • Provide support to facility to resolve nonconformance issues and identify corrective and preventative actions
  • Provide Microbiology and Cleaning & Sanitization related Training to plant employees
  • Trouble shoot laboratory issues and provide resolutions from audits


Required Qualification


A Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology or science-related field

Competent in Microsoft Office applications

Good communication and scientific writing skills

Work in a teamwork environment and be responsive

Be able to think and operate independently with minimum supervision as needed


Preferred Qualification


One year or plus Microbiologist experience at Manufacture Quality Control unit

Understanding of GMP/ GLP & good documentation practices

Familiar with laboratory equipment and operation

Detail oriented and excellent organization skill
