Role Summary

As an Assistant Scientist for the Home Care (Dish) category, you will play a key role in developing and optimizing high-performance dish care products. Operating within a global Research & Development environment, you will translate consumer insights and technical strategies into practical laboratory solutions. Your focus will be on executing experimental methods, analyzing data, and ensuring seamless technology transfer from lab-scale formulation to production, all while collaborating closely with multi-functional global teams.


Responsibilities

  • Formulation & Bench Work: Conduct lab-scale batching, evaluate formula stability, perform product testing, and assist in scaling up new dish care products from lab to pilot plant
  • Data Documentation & Analysis: Keep detailed, accurate records of experimental work, observations, and aging studies in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Quality requirements
  • Technical Problem Solving: Apply scientific knowledge to day-to-day formulation challenges, troubleshooting technical issues with an applied, hands-on approach under supervisor guidance
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate lab results effectively and act as a technical link with business partners including Quality, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Global Marketing
  • Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe laboratory environment by strictly adhering to Environmental Health and Safety (EOHS) guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) when handling chemicals
  • Process Improvement: Recommend new or improved product evaluation methods and help compile essential technical data packages for efficient global technology transfer

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Material Science, or a related scientific field
  • Experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry (relevant internships, co-ops, or university research experience will be considered)
  • Fluent English (spoken and written) with the ability to confidently present data and collaborate with global division partners
  • Foundational understanding of surfactant chemistry

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to or interest in leveraging AI tools to optimize formulation workflows or data analysis
  • Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) for data tracking and collaborative documentation
  • Experience or familiarity with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab) and Design of Experiments (DoE)
