Brief introduction: 

Are you ready to own and elevate the core making operations at our Sanand plant? As the Area Leader - Making, you will be at the heart of our toothpaste manufacturing process, driving the critical preparation and transfer of gel/cream to the finishing lines. You will have the unique opportunity to lead across three shifts, spearheading continuous improvement, EHS, and new product installations while fostering a high-performing team. The position is based in Sanand.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage the entire Making Operations, including equipment loading, planning, maintenance, cleaning & sanitization, and ensuring the exceptional quality of batches produced.

  • Drive continuous improvement and Operational Excellence strategies by managing Capex projects, implementing new technology, and executing new product trials.

  • Coordinate seamlessly across 3 shifts to achieve plant KPIs, standardizing work practices, and effectively resolving labor relations issues.

  • Empower and develop your team, including the Team Leader-Making and Making Associates, through coaching, training, and structured change management.

  • Ensure strict adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), Quality, and Factory Performance & Reliability (FP&R) standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7-8 years of experience in manufacturing processes.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing production, including handling raw materials, resolving variances, and ensuring adherence to compliance and regulatory norms.

  • Ability to track and analyze data, such as using SAP data and BI Reports, for production reporting, capacity planning, and process improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Degree in Engineering (Production, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial) is essential.

  • A Post-graduate degree in Engineering or an MBA in Operations is desirable.

  • Experience in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or related industries.

  • Strong leadership capabilities, specifically in developing and coaching people, systematically breaking down complex problems, and effective priority setting.

  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills to engage stakeholders at all stages of a project.
