Role Summary:

In this role you will take ownership for driving brand recommendation and ensuring that Hill’s is known as a scientific, innovative and credible partner that is engaged with veterinary professionals to transform the lives of dogs and cats through superior nutrition..

Reporting to the Professional Veterinary Affairs (PVA) Manager, this role is passionate about nutrition and about educating both internal and external stakeholders about the benefits of our range of diets
-
It serves as the technical expert for NSW and the ACT, working with the NSW field sales team as well as directly with universities and specialist hospitals in NSW and the ACT to drive product understanding and leadership

This role also supports digital and in person educational strategies in line with the category focuses and brings these to life within both independent and corporate environments

The Professional Consulting Veterinarian serves as the professional face of Hill’s representing the company at veterinary conferences and discussing nutritional cases directly with veterinarians both in person and by digital means.
Responsibilities:
-
Develop and maintain high standards of knowledge in small animal nutrition and Hill’s products
-
Identify opportunities to use expertise to affect a commercial gain
-
Be the go to technical resource for the NSW sales team, train and coach territory managers to understand the technical information on the Hill’s Science Diet and Prescription Diet products

Collaborate with the NSW Field Sales Manager, and based on data analysis, provide strategic in-field support to target specific clinics to gain distribution
-
Conduct regular field/ride-days with NSW Territory Managers

Establish and maintain professional relationships with Key Thought Leaders (KTLs), specialist hospitals and universities in NSW and the ACT including KTL management activities

Recruit and act as the main liaison for the local student rep at NSW vet schools, supporting the execution of student rep initiatives in line with of the overall student rep strategy

Deliver training presentations to veterinarians, veterinary students, nurses and pet specialty retail groups
-
Support the Scientific Affairs Manager in executing territory based key account initiatives

Represent Hill’s at professional events such as industry conferences
Required Qualifications:
-
Degree in Veterinary Science
-
Current registration with the Veterinary Practitioners Board of NSW
-
At least 3 years small animal clinical experience
-
Valid NSW driver’s license
-
Proficient computer skills, experience with Google Suite tools is ideal
The ideal candidate has the following skills
-
Excellent communication skills including both written and oral communication, ability to present in front of large audiences

Has a good eye for commercial opportunities and a sound business mind

Stakeholder management – effective at using stakeholders as resources
-
Be able to work independently and travel within region to deliver customer training and attend professional conferences, some overnight travel is required
-
Previous animal health industry highly regarded
