Job Summary:
This role is responsible for meeting production schedules, optimizing resource utilization, maintaining high product quality and EHS standards, ensuring equipment upkeep, and minimizing costs and waste. The Area Lead will also contribute to the development and implementation of operational strategies, policies, and practices in collaboration with the Operations Manager.Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
1. Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) & Quality

Strictly adhere to all EHS policies and procedures, actively promoting a safe work environment and culture through leadership.

Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, promptly implementing necessary corrective actions.

Ensure all operational activities comply with established quality standards and procedures.
2. Operations Management & Efficiency
-
Plan, direct, and monitor production activities and services to consistently meet daily and monthly schedules with the most efficient use of resources.

Develop and implement production schedules and procedures, strategically allocating labor and capital to maximize overall productivity.

Contribute to factory performance targets by minimizing equipment downtime and maximizing operational efficiency.

Monitor all production activities to ensure costs and wastage are kept to the lowest possible levels.

Manage the inventory of operations spare parts, focusing on cost optimization and efficient management practices.

Conduct thorough breakdown analysis to identify and eliminate the root causes of equipment failures.

Drive breakdown elimination initiatives to significantly enhance overall factory reliability.
3. Factory Performance & Reliability and Continuous Improvement
-
Lead and champion Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives across the team.

Implement Factory Performance & Reliability (FP&R)/Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles to improve equipment reliability and overall factory performance.

Actively contribute to the development and implementation of Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Preventive Maintenance (PM) initiatives.

Champion 5S principles throughout the area to ensure a clean, organized, and highly efficient workspace.

Drive operational excellence through Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies.
4. Team Leadership & Development

Cultivate a collaborative team atmosphere, actively promoting skill enhancement and knowledge exchange among team members.

Provide coaching, mentorship, and constructive performance feedback to the team.

Enhance the team's capabilities by integrating the latest technologies and methodologies.
Required Qualifications & Experience
-
Education: Engineering degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering.

Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in the FMCG/Automobile industry with a strong background in plant operations and team management.

Technical Expertise:
-
Understanding and hands-on experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles and implementation.

Strong knowledge and practical application of Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar.

Proficiency in SAP.

Leadership: Proven ability to effectively lead and manage teams, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.

Operational Excellence: Demonstrated experience in driving operational excellence through the implementation of best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Advantageous Skills: Knowledge of digital tools and Project management skills are considered an added advantage.
