This role Reports to: Director of Manufacturing

 

 

What would be the responsibilities for this role?

  • Responsible for driving Safety, Occupational Health and Environment related requirements in CP Malaysia. Ensures compliance to CP standards and to local regulatory requirements. Drives sustainability initiative in plant. Imparts training and drives safety culture in plant, inclusive but not limited to: 

  • Support change control process, Review all e-MOC for EOHS compliance

  • Support Waste Handling & Disposal, verify waste segregation at point of use and coordinate waste disposal activity, ensure upkeep of the scrap yard

  • Report & assist corrective & preventive actions for observed discrepancies

  • Ensure treatment of waste water and verifies treated water meets the specs

  • Report & assist corrective & preventive actions for observed discrepancies

  • Create awareness and Promote Sustainability in the Facility

  • Receive & review sustainability suggestions/projects with peer function and publish the progress reports

  • Responsible for conducting Mock-Drill to ensure readiness and awareness among the employees

  • Ensures ERT team is fully certified and trained to meet any plant emergency

  • Updates EOHS incident Management database

  • Responsible for Safety Orientation for new hires, visitors

  • Supports training with Training and Development Leader, quality, EOHS and FP&R Modules to identify training needs to company employees and contractor employees

  • Ensure compliance of external Audit findings – Related to EOHS

  • Take Plant Walk-through’s, Job Safety Analysis and EOHS meetings and closure of gaps identified

  • Implement and meet all local regulations in EOHS area

  • Responsible to finalize all the incident investigation reports and recommend control measures

 

What does the ideal candidate profile look like?

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or equivalent in Occupational , Health and Safety qualification

  • 10 years of Manufacturing work experience, DOSH green book certification will be an added advantage

  • Good computer proficiency. Good knowledge of google tools

  • Basic knowledge of SAP

  • Teamwork and Collaboration - Must have strong interpersonal and training skills, must be able to support to shop floor personnel 

  • Analysis/Decision making - Analyze problems and decide on appropriate course of action to resolve problems

  • Effective Execution - execute projects on time and with required functionality

  • Planning / Priority Setting - be able to set priorities in an always changing manufacturing environment

  • Relationship Building – critical functional relationships must be established with Plant operations, Engineering, shop floor personnel, Division EOHS
