Role Summary

As a Category Analyst supporting the Oral Care category in Santiago, Chile,you will serve as strategic advisor to our key retail partners and to our commercial team. In this dynamic role, you will leverage shopper insights and market data to drive category growth, identify new business opportunities, and optimize retail execution. You will be key in transforming market analytics into actionable growth strategies that deliver mutual value for Colgate-Palmolive and our retail customers.

 

 Responsibilities

  • Analyze category performance using syndicated data tools (e.g., Nielsen) to identify growth opportunities in product assortment and shelf placement.

  • Develop strategic planograms using space management software (e.g., Spaceman, JDA/Space Planning) aligned with customer-agreed strategies.

  • Generate regular management scorecards to track category health and monitor key business KPIs across retail partners.

  • Collaborate directly with key retail partners to identify, develop, and execute Category Management (CatMan) strategies and in-store activations.

  • Translate shopper insights and 7P (People Journey, Product Assortment, Price, Placement, Promotion, Point of Purchase, Persuasion) dynamics into actionable category recommendations and training materials for customer management and retail store teams.

  • Partner with the Consumer Insights team to deliver objective market analysis, shopper decision hierarchies, and competitive benchmarks while maintaining strict data confidentiality.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Industrial Engineering, Commercial Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Intermediate English language proficiency.

  • Previous experience (internship experiences are welcome) in category management, commercial planning, marketing, sales, or market research.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG/CPG), retail, multinational organizations, or market research agencies.

  • 1 year's experience in catman, commercial planning, marketing, sales or market research

  • Proficiency in planogramming software (Spaceman, ProSpace/Space Planning) and market intelligence panels (Nielsen, Kantar Panel, CCR).

  • Strong analytical, collaborative, and stakeholder management skills.


This is a temporary position for a 1-year period
