Brief introduction - Role Summary/Purpose:

  • Designing, building, and maintaining robust and scalable data pipelines to architect and manage data flow; developing and optimizing cloud data warehousing solutions; and translating complex data into clear, actionable visual representations and business insights for stakeholders. 

  • Leading the design and implementation of scalable ELT processes; maintaining data integrity within Snowflake; creating high-fidelity visualizations; and serving as a strategic partner to Business teams  to ensure data infrastructure supports business objectives and data-driven decision-making.

 

Responsibilities:

End-to-End Data Engineering

  • Architecting, constructing, and overseeing scalable data pipelines to manage data flow from diverse sources into Snowflake layers.

  • Utilizing dbt for the implementation of sophisticated business logic, ensuring high standards for data quality, lineage, and modularity.

  • Orchestrating complex workflows through Airflow and managing version control via GitHub while adhering to CI/CD best practices.

AI Foundation and Modernization

  • Architectural Leadership: Design and implement a Semantic Layer to bridge the gap between complex data schemas and Natural Language interfaces for executive reporting.

  • AI Integration: Build and optimize NL2SQL pipelines that allow non-technical stakeholders to perform self-service analytics via LLM-powered interfaces.

  • Data Reliability: Implement AI-driven observability frameworks to ensure high-fidelity data feeds for automated reporting, minimizing model hallucination and "silent failures."

  • Strategic Automation: Evolve the reporting function from reactive dashboards to proactive decision intelligence, utilizing AI agents to surface automated insights and narrative summaries.

  • Prompt Engineering

  • DBT Semantic Layer (MetricFlow) - Natural Language Query

  • LangChain / LlamaIndex - Agentic AI

  • GCP - Deployment

  • Snowflake Cortex / Pinecone - Managing Unstructured data / Vector data

  • AI Governance / Security / Observability

Visualization & Storytelling

  • Creating high-fidelity, intuitive, and visually engaging dashboards using platforms such as Sigma & Domo

  • Translating complex data into clear, actionable visual representations and business insights to highlight trends and opportunities for stakeholders.

  • Overseeing the automated delivery of critical reports to executive leadership with a commitment to absolute accuracy and timeliness.

Business Partnership & Domain Expertise

  • Serving as a strategic partner to leaders in CD teams to uncover core business needs through discovery sessions.

  • Acting as a bridge between technical engineering constraints and business ambitions to ensure data-driven decision-making.

Technical Leadership & Mentorship

  • Establishing internal standards for optimized SQL, clean code, and effective dashboard design principles across the organization.

  • Performing rigorous peer reviews of code and visualizations to ensure performance optimization and consistency with brand standards.

Required  Qualifications:

  • Possessing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or a closely related quantitative field.

  • Demonstrating 8+ years of extensive, hands-on experience in Data Engineering and Business Intelligence architectures.

  • Expert-level mastery of the technical stack, specifically Snowflake, SQL, and dbt, to drive data modeling and logic.

  • Proficiency in utilizing Python and Airflow for the orchestration of complex data workflows.

  • Proven business acumen with Customer Development and Retail data sets

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to translate and present complex data insights to executive leadership.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Applying UI/UX principles to the creation of sophisticated and intuitive dashboard designs.

  • Demonstrating experience with AWS or GCP cloud ecosystem integrations to support data architectures.

  • Possessing a professional background within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or Retail sectors.
