Role Summary

The Demand Services Procurement Specialist is responsible for conducting detailed demand, spend, cost and market analysis and a structured approach to tendering and negotiating with suppliers. You will develop and maintain vendor relationships including tracking and analysis of vendor spend and performance. While keeping an elevated engagement and alignment with our internal stakeholders and external partners to address the top business priorities, optimize the supply of goods and services and address cost reduction opportunities for Colgate, Hills Pet & Filorgas Companies.

 

Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Sourcing: Develop data-driven sourcing strategies using spend analytics, benchmarking, and best practices to achieve savings and simplification targets.

  • Governance & Compliance: Adhere to Global Procurement governance, including CRMC (Contract Risk Management) approvals, eSourcing tools, and Supplier Code of Conduct compliance.

  • Risk Management & Vendor Governance: Support procurement risk assessment, mitigation plans, vendor creation, approvals, and ethical supplier management.

  • Stakeholder & Category Management: Engage stakeholders to align on priorities and lead contract execution, supplier segmentation, and category process improvements.

  • Process & Tool Standardization: Standardize and maintain e-Sourcing processes, templates, and Ariba Procurement tools.

  • Initiatives & Ad-Hoc Support: Proactively lead key initiatives and provide prompt support for global, divisional, or ad-hoc business requests.

  • Category & Negotiation Support: Support the Manager with Customization and Warehousing categories management and supplier negotiations.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3+ years of experience in Procurement, Purchasing, or Supply Chain Management

  • Experience in the Mexican transportation market (including freight rates and carrier negotiations)

  • Intermediate/Advanced English proficiency (spoken and written)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in FMCG/CPG or Pharmaceutical companies

  • Strong business analysis skills, with proficiency in leveraging business tools and information systems to solve problems, make decisions, and support recommendations with data

  • Negotiation skills, characterized by proactive planning, anticipation, professionalism across all business settings, and strong emotional intelligence, mannerisms, and communication control

  • Teamwork and relationship building, acting as a collaborative partner when interacting with stakeholders and peers while effectively managing relationships across all organizational levels

  • Project management skills and a proven ability to prioritize effectively

  • Cross-functional and cross-regional collaboration skills
