Credit-to-Cash (C2C) Team Lead

Location: Mexico City, Mexico

 

 

Role Summary

 

Are you a strategic, numbers-driven financial professional with a talent for leading teams and optimizing financial performance? As the Credit-to-Cash (C2C) Team Lead, you will manage the daily monitoring, communication, and execution of Credit Management, Cash Application, and Collections workflows. Reporting directly to the Credit-to-Cash (C2C) Manager, you will lead a dedicated transactional team to ensure outstanding receivables are collected efficiently, payments are applied accurately within operational timelines, and credit risks are minimized. By combining deep core accounting acumen with robust data reporting, you will confidently resolve complex customer escalations, drive workflow simplification, and protect corporate working capital and cash flow.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Portfolio & Collections Strategy: Supervise the accounts receivable aging open items report workflow, guiding the team to execute targeted collection strategies that minimize past-due balances and consistently meet cash velocity targets.

  • Cash Application Monitoring: Oversee daily bank clearances and cash posting queues, ensuring receipts are processed accurately while minimizing unapplied cash and operational bottlenecks.

  • Credit Risk Management: Direct customer creditworthiness evaluations and financial statement reviews, approving or recommending credit limit updates while controlling orders-on-hold and credit block release operations.

  • Internal Controls Alignment: Support annual accounts receivable Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance protocols, serving as the central team point of contact to coordinate documentation for internal and external auditors.

  • Month-End & KPI Metrics: Spearhead the team's month-end process by tracking key performance indicators (including DSO and Overdue %), drafting operational commentary, and delivering closing presentations to senior management.

  • Process Automation Coordination: Foster a continuous improvement culture by identifying daily simplification opportunities and partnering with technical teams to implement automated tools like RPA bots and analytical models.

 

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Logistics, Business Administration, or a closely related field.

  • Experience: 3+ years of professional experience operating within Credit-to-Cash (C2C), Accounts Receivable (AR), or Order-to-Cash (O2C) business operations.

  • Core Competencies: Extensive hands-on familiarity with global collection practices, automated cash application workflows, and corporate portfolio credit risk management.

  • Financial Acumen: Strong financial problem-solving skills with a solid understanding of basic accounting principles, working capital metrics (DSO, aging buckets), and bad debt reserve provision analysis.

  • Technical Skillset: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis) coupled with functional knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms like SAP.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Leadership Background: Prior experience formally supervising, coaching, or acting as an operational team lead within a large global or matrixed corporate structure.

  • Workflow Transformation: Demonstrated success mapping processes, simplifying transactional models, or navigating enterprise system rollouts.

  • Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with a proven track record of confidently negotiating balance resolutions with external clients and aligning with internal sales and logistics leads.

  • Professional Drive: A proactive, self-motivated mindset dedicated to workflow standardization, automation readiness, and cultivating a high-performance team culture.
