Credit to Cash Deductions Analyst
Location: Mexico City, Mexico
Role Summary
Are you an analytical problem-solver looking to drive commercial efficiency and protect corporate profitability? As a Deductions Analyst, you will manage the end-to-end monitoring, review, and resolution of customer commercial promotions, pricing, post-audits, and logistics deductions (including short-payments, damages, and compliance claims). Reporting directly to the Deductions Team Lead, you will act as a critical business partner between commercial, finance, and logistics teams to secure missing documentation, resolve payment exceptions, and clear credit notes accurately. By pairing data analysis with cross-functional collaboration, you will directly safeguard internal controls, optimize working capital, and support process automation initiatives.
Responsibilities
-
End-to-End Deduction Resolution: Monitor open item reports to validate, track, and research commercial and logistics deductions, moving invalid disputes to a collectible status and securing required adjustments.
-
Audit Compliance & Validation: Review all promotion contracts, pricing agreements, and logistics evidence required to issue credit notes, ensuring absolute adherence to GAAP principles and internal control guidelines.
-
Month-End Analysis & Metrics: Lead month-end close activities for the deductions scope, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to compile executive commentary and prevent negative impacts on the P&L.
-
Stakeholder & Portal Engagement: Manage direct communications with customer accounts payable departments, utilizing client portals and running operational alignment meetings to track dispute recoveries.
-
Root-Cause Investigation: Analyze customer payment histories and external logistics data to identify the root causes of recurring deductions, implementing corrective actions to prevent future financial leakage.
-
Continuous Improvement Support: Actively participate in process-mapping exercises to identify simplification opportunities, supporting the design and deployment of digital tools such as RPA bots or automated scripts.
Required Qualifications
-
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
-
Experience: 1+ years of professional experience in Accounts Receivable, deductions management, logistics analysis, or general administrative finance.
-
Technical Skills: Fundamental proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data sorting and basic formulas (such as VLOOKUPs), alongside a general comfort level using standard office productivity suites.
-
Core Capabilities: Strong attention to detail, a collaborative team attitude, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English to confidently manage cross-functional partnerships.
Preferred Qualifications
- System Familiarity: Prior operational experience navigating enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms, specifically SAP or Oracle environments.
-
CPG Exposure: Background working within a fast-paced global Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or fast-moving consumer goods business model.
-
Digital Aptitude: An open, continuous-learning mindset with a strong interest in digital transformation, process automation, or workflow standardization.
