Reports To: EHS Manager / EOHS Leader

About the Role Do you want to come to work with a smile and leave with one as well? At Colgate-Palmolive, our dependable household brands and sustainability commitments make us a company passionate about building a future to smile about. As an Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Intern, you will gain hands-on experience driving a culture of safety, compliance, and well-being on our manufacturing floor. You will actively participate in risk assessments, support internal audits, and help facilitate safety campaigns, making a tangible impact on the daily lives of our plant personnel.

What You Will Do (Core Responsibilities)

Audits, Assets & Compliance

  • Conduct assessment and asset verification, ensuring strict compliance with financial policies and maintaining the housekeeping of the asset master list.

  • Assist the team with internal audit preparations, conducting walkthroughs, and providing valuable observations and recommendations.

  • Assist with the preparation, data tracking, and submission of routine reports related to plant EHS performance.

Risk Assessment & Documentation

  • Take a hands-on role in the documentation and updating of critical safety process flows.

  • Assist in drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Job Safety/Hazard Analysis (JSA/JHA), and Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) documents.

Safety Engagement & Culture

  • Assist with the facilitation and execution of EHS workshops, safety campaigns, and plant-wide events.

  • Capitalize on opportunities to participate in cross-functional learning with other engineering and operations teams.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements)

  • Availability: Able to commit to a full-time internship for a minimum duration of 6 months (2 vacancies available).

  • Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Environment, Health & Safety (EHS), Engineering, Material Science, Science, or a closely related field.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: A basic foundational understanding of EHS principles and local regulatory acts (e.g., DOSH/OSHA regulations).

  • Core Skills: High attention to detail, highly adaptable, and a proactive team player.

  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the plant. Well-versed in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.

  • Tech-Savvy: Skilled in using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) for documentation and reporting.
