Job Summary
Briefly summarizes the purpose and principle responsibilities of the job

The Supply Network Planner acts as the primary contact bridging the Sub/Hub Demand Planners and Production Planners at production facilities (CP and Contact manufacturers). Responsible for translation of the demand plan into inventory requirements within the supply network while optimizing customer service and carrying costs.


Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Describes the key responsibilities/accountabilities as well as the degree of authority for the job
 

  • Balancing Demand and Supply – Executes daily/weekly/monthly planning cycle priorities ensuring:  
    • Product availability at DC’s. 
    • Right-Sized inventory levels 
    • Synchronization of new product introduction and sourcing transitions.

 

  • Balance of Service vs Cost – optimizes customer service at the minimum cost level. 

 

  • Supply Resolution – utilizes system alerts to identify and resolve supply shortages/overstocks.

 

  • Data Analytics – uses supply chain data and tools to drive information-based decisions. 

 

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives – develops and implements best practices related to finished goods replenishment, inventory management and system utilization.

 

  • Collaboration – identify and close gaps with Demand Planning, Production Planning, Transportation, Warehouse Operations and Customer Service to achieve efficient, cost effective supply planning in meeting CS&L service and cost goals/KPI's and improving supplier responsiveness 

 

  • System/Process Development - Executes "Best Practice" supply planning processes identified by leadership to maximize customer service, minimize cost, and optimize inventory.

 

Required Functional Competencies

Knowledge of Supply –demand dynamics
 

  • Achieves customer-focused Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) whilst balancing supply and demand.
  • Understands Supply Chain constraints such as product release, manufacturing, distribution, and customer requirements.
  • Grasps the business processes and SAP systems that optimize supply planning.
  • Applies the fundamentals of pull systems, inventory control, and cycle time reduction.


Understands continuous improvement techniques
 

  • Shares ideas, knowledge, and best practices to improve Supply Chain processes and solve problems.
  • Applies best practices in the utilization of SAP APO functionalities.


Familiar with the concepts of Supply Chain Management
 

  • Interactions among material procurement, manufacturing processes, planning, logistics and customer service activities.
  • Manufacturing capabilities/constraints. 
  • Customer needs in basic and added value services.

Analysis and decision making
 

  • Applies data and information to balance the various KPIs for optimizing Customer Service, supply and demand. Sees the Supply Chain as a total system.
  • Uses Supply Chain data and analytical tools effectively including SAP and Business Warehouse.
  • Leverages data from business tools and information systems to maximize Return on Capital, Total Delivered Cost, and Customer Service while minimizing inventory.


Team-working Skills
 

  • Sees oneself as a business team member rather than as an individual in a Supply Chain function.
  • Partners with Finance to optimize and budget Finished Goods/Working Capital investment.
  • Works with suppliers to improve supplier responsiveness.


Cost/P&L understanding 
 

  • Integrating supply chain cost drivers and financial data to minimize total delivered product cost and inventory at targeted service levels.
  • Displays a net corporate benefit mentality when making decisions.
  • Understands how Supply Chain activities and decisions impact the P&L and Balance Sheet in the short- and long-term.
