Job Summary:

As an External Manufacturing Planner at Colgate-Palmolive, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless end to end coordination of production of finished goods from our third-party manufacturing operations to meet the demands of our customers throughout the supply chain. In this critical role, you are responsible for ensuring timely and cost effective planning, delivery and management of line capacity to support operational execution and customer service targets. Utilizing advance planning solutions, you will execute Finished Good supply planning tasks with precision.  Your ability to run in-depth root cause analysis will be essential in assessing the impact of planning decisions and implementing timely course corrections.  By supporting our weekly and monthly executional processes, you will contribute to the alignment of our supply chain strategies with our overarching goal of providing world-class service to our customers.

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Own the Rough Cut Capacity Plan and Master Production Scheduling processes for Finished Good products produced by an external manufacturer (EMs) (co-manufacturing and co-packing facilities)

  • Maintain and govern master data specifically for externally manufactured SKUs to ensure accurate system-generated supply plans.

  • Configure and manage system capacity constraints to accurately reflect rough-cut capacity and proactively identify potential capacity constraints before they impact service.

  • Streamline distribution from Co-Manufacturers and Co-Packers to regional DCs, optimizing logistics and reducing lead times.

  • Responsible for the coordination and/or purchase of materials sent to the Co-Mans / Co-Packers where applicable 

  • Analyze and assess system-generated supply plans for feasibility

  • Oversee the creation of a system-generated master schedule for external manufacturing operations, ensuring the identification and resolution of exceptions 

  • Collaborate with external stakeholders to develop alternative scenarios and assumptions for addressing long-term supply constraints

  • Oversee and approve short-term finished goods plan change requests and expedited processes in collaboration with the EMs, making manual adjustments to the production plan 

  • Integrate EM feedback into the mfg plan, escalate volume discrepancies and long-term capacity or material issues to weekly Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) process

  • Finalize the weekly Master Production Schedule by creating and confirming purchase/ production orders within the ERP system and ensuring clear communication of created orders with EMs 

  • Conduct weekly/ monthly meetings with External Manufacturers to review production requirements, open orders, and performance KPIs 

  • Own and manage master data inputs (including EM capacity) that drive the production plan

  • Accountable for Weekly/ Monthly review of Key Performance Indicators with leadership and root cause for any misses 

  • Help manage relevant master data and capacity inputs ensuring good data drives planning

  • Conduct regular meetings, manage orders, production exceptions, and distribution with relevant stakeholders to align on projected manufacturing needs and timely delivery

  • Leverage Scenario Planning and Control Tower capabilities to proactively address potential risks, being able to explain impacts 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline

  • At least 3+ years of experience in supply chain planning, demand planning or similar roles in logistics, with a knowledge of distribution and production planning

  • Intermediate to Advanced English proficiency

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP ECC/ SAP S4Hana 

  • Proficiency with Advance Planning Solutions such as SAP APO, Kinaxis, etc. 

  • Strong supply chain acumen with holistic understanding of end to end supply chain connectivity 

  • Understanding of core planning master data and their interdependencies 

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity and drive data backed decisions 

  • Effective time management and prioritization skills to meet deadlines

  • Capacity to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Independence and cross-functional collaboration skills.
