Job Summary: 

The Operations Team Leader is responsible for effectively managing production and packaging operators and developing collaborative partnerships with colleagues. Delivering the agreed to business and plant results while maintaining positive employee relations. The primary accountabilities of the role include daily production schedule adherence, quality, EHS, logistics, production financial performance, labor relations, people and team development. 

The Operations Team Leader has to be an effective and valuable member of the Production team, to ensure delivery of plant business results. The Operations Team Leader works within a structure that requires considerable interaction with his reports as well as with the other functions. Guides and empowers teams in the implementation of the plant strategy and FP&R initiatives. 

 

Essential job functions: 

Accountable for the quality and productivity of the production department and its ability to deliver high levels of service to  internal and external customers

Manage the people, materials and equipment to deliver maintenance performance objectives, as measured by plant KPI's

Manages the Performance Enhancement Process when subordinates do not meet the expectations 

Manages absenteeism as Case Manager in cooperation with HR Tracks and analyzes variances associated with materials or finished products 

Ensures compliance with policies/procedures for staffing, shift schedule, vacation scheduling, and training to meet business needs including peak production periods Implements FP&R and other continuous improvement programs within the plant. 

Manages the development and implementation of the daily production schedule in a way that ensures high levels of service to internal and external customers Identifies, recommends and implements manufacturing cost reduction programs Executes new technology within the production area 

Delivering input on both capital and operating budgets

Communicates and implements the local Supply Chain vision, mission, strategy and objectives within the plant Ensures effective communication within the teams Empowers subordinates by way of training, information sharing, coaching, feedback, appraisals and delegation, to ensure the development of people, teams and organizational capabilities 

Implements strategies within the production department to consistently manufacture and ensure the quality of finished goods 

Develops and implement appropriate margin improvement initiatives 

Accountable for adhering to CP/Hill's, local and governmental guidelines related to EHS, Quality and Regulatory 

 

Education: 

Engineer Degree or similar

 

Experience:

2-5 years of production Experience
