Collection & Coding Analyst
Location: Mexico City, Mexico
Role Summary
Are you an analytical professional looking to combine financial precision with advanced digital toolsets? As a Collection & Coding Analyst, you will manage customer account remittances and the precise codification of Gross-to-Net (GTN) and logistics deductions. Reporting directly to the Credit-to-Cash (C2C) Team Lead, you will act as a vital operational bridge between initial payment application and formalized dispute resolution. By maintaining proactive customer contact and analyzing transactional data trends, you will ensure accounts receivable accuracy, resolve unidentified variances, and provide key root-cause insights that protect the organization from structural cash flow leakages.
Responsibilities
-
Remittance Processing & Coding: Obtain detailed customer payment breakdowns and request missing backups to accurately categorize and code deductions (such as pricing, promotions, shipping shortages, and returns) utilizing standard reason codes.
-
Proactive Collection Execution: Partner directly with external customer accounts to secure payments, carefully documenting payment behaviors and escalating unidentified balances or high-risk accounts to local finance and commercial teams.
-
Data Tracking & Trend Analysis: Generate periodic accounts receivable aging reports, monitoring transactional workflows to identify emerging trends or bottlenecks within unidentified customer deductions.
-
Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate closely with cash application, logistics, and commercial planning teams to agree on structural payment adjustments and accelerate the dispute validation timeline.
-
Customer Inquiry Management: Oversee high-volume shared mailboxes and incoming financial queries, driving "first-contact resolution" for both internal business stakeholders and external clients.
Required Qualifications
-
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field (Degree completed or in progress).
-
Experience: 1+ years of professional experience operating within finance, accounting, or a fast-paced corporate customer operations environment.
-
Language Skills: Advanced business fluency and professional proficiency in English (written and oral), with the capability to negotiate effectively with stakeholders.
-
Technical & Core Systems Alignment: Strong hands-on knowledge of Order-to-Cash (O2C) accounting principles, proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems like SAP, and advanced use of data spreadsheet software (Excel, Google Sheets).
Preferred Qualifications
-
Process Automation & AI Skills: Familiarity or hands-on experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools applied to transactional financial processes, or basic programming/scripting skills (such as Python, SQL, or VBA/Macros) for workflow automation.
-
Continuous Improvement Mindset: Demonstrated experience or orientation toward continuous improvement frameworks, workflow simplification, or process mapping.
-
Core Competencies: A highly analytical problem solver with robust negotiation skills, root-cause investigation capabilities, and a proactive "collection backbone" when managing aged portfolios under pressure.
