What is the purpose of this role?


Retail Marketing team (commonly known as Trade Marketing in other organizations) in CP is the key bridge between Consumer Marketing and Field Sales teams to drive the company's business objectives and strategic priorities. In this strategic role, you will be a part of the Branch Retail Marketing team supporting strategy for CP’s SWIFT branch (i.e. South & West India)


Why is this exciting? 


The Asst. Branch Retail Marketing Manager is the key link with the field teams who drive the business. Your role as part of the branch RE team is to develop and drive the Retail Marketing strategy by category, by RE (Retail Environments like general trade, wholesale, standalone modern trade etc), and by region. Using data based decision making, you will work closely with Consumer Marketing to initiate / implement brand strategy in relevant states / RE’s.
 
What would be the responsibilities for this role?

 

  • Coordinating with central RE managers to share geo specific insights on GTM & driving GTM strategy on the ground through Field teams
  • Working with the Branch Finance Manager to ensure efficiency & effectiveness in all spends wrt trade / in-store etc.
  • Analysis of market share and ND/WD/internal data points/ITT/STT figures to arrive at the optimum strategy for CP in that state w.r.t. to category growth & share growth.
  • Conceptualizing in-market solutions to tap local business opportunities, and liaising with field teams for the successful implementation of the same.
  • Develop communication plan for Field team, RE’s and for Key large customers
  • Successful execution of RE-wise activations that are planned
  • Work closely with Regional Managers to identify opportunities and actioning Go-to-Market strategies
  • Work as part of Retail Marketing with RE managers and Brand Managers to close quarter activation grids by category / brand / geography

 

What does the ideal candidate profile look like?


Required
2-4 years of overall experience including 2+ years of frontline sales
MBA from Tier-1 or Tier-2 b-school


Preferred
Prior experience with FMCG
Prior experience in Retail Marketing / Trade Marketing
