The Plant Engineer develops projects that improve safety, quality, capacity, and financial performance of the site.  He/She manages the Capital Expense Budget (CEB) as well as all technical and administrative aspects of the projects.  He/She is responsible for the selection, layout and installation of plant equipment to ensure the right technology and capacity are in place to meet future business needs.  The Plant Engineer leads the Maintenance Team to meet and exceed plant key performance indicators by increasing equipment reliability and decreasing maintenance costs through continuous improvement.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop projects that improve safety, quality, capacity and financial performance of the site.
  • Lead the Tom’s of Maine CEB (Capital Expense Budget) process including technical and administrative reporting aspects of all projects.
  • Lead Factory Performance & Reliability program for the facility.
  • Prioritize and oversee completion of all required maintenance activities for the facility in support of safety, environment, quality, and operations.
  • Prepare and manage Maintenance budgets.
  • Responsible for the spare parts strategy and process.
  • Responsible for the Preventive Maintenance strategy and process.
  • Develop and lead projects for new equipment, new products, and new processes including installation, operation, and production validations and training.
  • Responsible for the coordination and oversight of contractors, architectural & engineering firms personnel, and vendor technicians
  • Lead Maintenance team performance via communications, accountability, and Managing With Respect principles.
  • Achieve Fund-the-Growth Savings by active participation in ideation sessions and continuous improvement projects that reduce labor and materials.

 

EDUCATION:

  • BS in Engineering;  a combination of Engineering experience and a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field will be considered.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • 4 – 10 years’ experience in engineering in a manufacturing environment.  (3 – 8 years with masters degree).
