We are seeking a Sr Commercial Planning Manager located in Overland Park, KS who will be responsible for driving best in class customer engagement and long lead CDO planning.  This role will be responsible for working cross functionally to bring our innovation to life with our key strategic partners and ensure all the components are in place for flawless execution with our customer development teams.  In addition, this role will proactively lead the Omni Commercial Planning Process in order to drive Hill’s growth.  The ability to provide strategic insights and proactive feedback for the Retail Environments to drive the commercial processes is crucial to the overall success of the role. 

 

 

What You Will Do:    


30%    

  • Partner effectively with Sales, Marketing, Shopper Marketing, Insights, Brand, and other Category Leadership resources to develop and execute sell-in for Hill’s long lead innovation framework.
  • Lead the preparation, including the objective, agenda, presentation template, presenters for all customer engagement innovation and top to top meetings
  • Co-Lead, along with RCD, customer/trade engagements at the Customer Engagement Center in Small Paws Innovation Center

  • Develop, manage and execute the GTM launch plan for new products and innovation to ensure cross-functional alignment and readiness both for B&M and Omni launches
  • Own & lead the development of the customer selling presentations on new innovation including the coordination of the resources needed for successful sell in, lead by our category visions and stories
  • Provide strategic insight throughout the innovation go to market process around changing market dynamics and customer feedback
  • Actively manage the innovation grids and pipeline of new items with the commercial team
  • Lead the innovation gate process (innovation forecasting, pipeline volume planning, launch timings, and go / no-go decision making)
  • Support all facets of the innovation launch process including sales material, selling story positioning, new item sales distribution samples 
  • Manage the internal new item gateway process and feedback loop externally regarding the customer meeting dates, distribution acceptance, tracking and performance

  • Actively participate on Revenue Growth Management (RGM) Wellness and Therapeutic teams
  • Take a lead role in the Joint Business Planning (JBP) process

  • Provide thought leadership and strategic direction to the Conference and Sales Events specialist during planning for the Hill’s National Commercial Experience (NCE)

 


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business or related field
  • 5+ years in CPG sales, marketing, retail marketing or agency experience

 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA 

 


Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $125,000.00 - $165,000.00 USD

Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.

Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
