The Americas Media & Digital Services Procurement Manager is responsible for the development and execution of the procurement strategy across North America, Latin America and Hill’s Divisions. 


The role leads sourcing and contracting activities in compliance with the Global Procurement guidelines, while promoting the utilization of procurement methodology through brand, category management and strategic sourcing, as well as supporting internal and external stakeholders to  deliver efficiencies and optimization in Working and Non-working Media, Advertising Production, Agency Operations and Digital Marketing Categories. The position is responsible for promoting the utilization of procurement methodology through brand, category management and strategic sourcing activities. 


Primary responsibilities include: supporting stakeholders in the areas of Working Media, Non-Working Media, Production, and Agency fees management for traditional and digital media, for the Americas region (North America, Hill’s and Latin America).  This role interacts mainly with senior business leaders as well as external executive-level agency leaders.


We are looking for someone like you, with strong strategic sourcing/procurement experience in Media Spend.  A self-starter, with excellent negotiation and communication skills, able to work independently and keen on working in a cross-cultural working environment.  Someone who demonstrates clarity and passion in driving a shared vision, objectives, values and principles.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Core responsibilities of this position include:

  • Leads the development of Media, Ad-tech, advertising production and Agency Fees Sourcing strategy, working closely with the priorities of each Business Hub 

  • Leads a Media Procurement team based in Latin America and North America 

  • Establishes solid negotiation strategies across Media P&L lines, Identifies and develops major cost reduction initiatives, gains local and regional/divisional alignment and delivers financial results 

  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders and agency partners to develop the local media value tracking mechanism in order to report savings/added value 

  • Establishes solid strategies to expand the supplier diversity program initiatives 

  • Ensures regular updates of results for key stakeholders and Procurement leaders

  • Leads the engagement of the internal stakeholders i.e. functional Media/Digital & Marketing leads to understand the business context, in order to build a pipeline of initiatives that deliver growth

  • Manages the sourcing process for Advertising Buy, Production, and Agency Fees Management for the region

  • Leads the monthly and quarterly agency fee management process with Marketing and Finance stakeholders

  • Leads request for information (RFI) and request for proposal (RFP) for the Media and Agency categories, through the procurement tools and processes 

  • Organizes media performance and financial audit plans as well as cost benchmarking with independent consultants 

  • Develops and communicates media procurement and agency management best practices 

  • Identifies and develops metrics, reporting tools, and processes to drive media objectives 

  • Tracks and reports media volume discounts 

  • Monitors performance against agreed KPIs and drives improvements in line with agreed targets. 




Required qualifications include:  

  • A minimum of a BA/BS degree in Marketing or Business

  • A minimum of 8 years of Media, Digital marketing, Procurement, Commercial experience including 3 years of Media environment 


Preferred qualifications include:

  • An advanced degree (MBA) is desirable.

  • In-depth understanding of planning, buying and executing traditional and digital Media as well as advertising production and advertising operations for above and below the line activities 

  • Strong negotiation skills 

  • Experience in supplier evaluations and interactions 

  • Understanding of Advertising & Marketing agency operations 

  • Proven success as a collaborative team leader 

  • Self-starter, team player, effective leader and keen on working in a cross-cultural working environment. 

  • Experience in People management and development 

  • Fluent in English 

  • Spanish language, written and spoken, is desirable.
