The Quality Manager is responsible for developing, assigning responsibility, implementing, monitoring and leadership of the Plant Quality & Food Safety Program.  This includes training, instruction and execution of methodologies to enable the plant to deliver consistent, safe and effective products. In addition, this position is a key member of the Site Strategic Team, and ensures that the Quality Organization optimally contributes to key business building activities such as customer service, cost savings, technology transfer and management of change.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the site specific Quality Systems and Food Safety Plan including Quality Management strategies, direction, and policies with the goal of protecting the business, reducing variation and waste, and growing the business.
  • Accountable for ensuring compliance with Colgate /Hill’s Quality Standards, Local, Governmental, and International Quality and EOHS Regulatory standards and guidelines and will collaborate with all agencies to communicate, address, and resolve any issues.
  • Responsible for execution of Environmental and Micro programs and the C&S Program at the facility both on finished goods and processing / packaging equipment 
  • Responsible for reporting Quality systems metrics both internally and externally
  • Accountable for the robustness of key Quality Systems including but not limited to Incoming Component & Finished Product Inspection & Release, Validation, CAPA, Change Control, Internal Audits, Laboratory Management and Documentation Management.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the site’s Quality Audit program to ensure conformance with standards, quality-related regulatory requirements, cGMP’s, and leads Continuous Improvement initiative to address any internal or external quality or food safety audit findings.
  • Lead the consumer satisfaction programs such as consumer complaint tracking and reduction of plant controllable complaints
  • Participation with other plant managers / Corporate Quality in continuous improvement projects.
  • Prepare and run operating budgets for variable and fixed overheads for the Quality Team.


Basic qualifications include: 

  • B.A./B.S. Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Food Science or related field OR a Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of Quality Management experience in a plant environment.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Quality, Supply Chain, R&D, or technical related experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing/ plant operations environment.
  • At least 3 years of experience conducting and facilitating effective Failure Investigations, Corrective and Preventive Action, Notices of Deviation and management of Change Documentation.
  • Direct experience and active participation in an Audit Inspection by a Regulatory Agency


Preferred qualifications include: 

  • Prior pet food experience
  • At least 3 years of people management experience
     


Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $128,000.00 - $144,000.00 USD

Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.

Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
